This 17th century cottage has been renovated and extended, offering everything that is required for a relaxing holiday. This child and dog friendly property offers an ideal base for everyone to explore this beautiful area. The courtyard garden at the front with garden furniture is ideal for enjoying your morning coffee while planning your day ahead. On entering the property you are greeted by the first reception room which the owner has set up as a living room, as you go past the stairs you will be amazed at the size of the kitchen and adjoining living/dining room. You can access the private lawned garden from here or from the kitchen where you will find a second cloakroom.
The village of Veryan has the famous Round Houses together with the attractive water gardens, the local pub and the Roseland Stores, which serves as a post office, off licence and local shop which caters for every day needs. If you don’t fancy cooking then there are so many places to eat, or if you want to have a quiet evening then the kitchen is ideal for making a cooked supper while you enjoying the beautiful view of the garden. The surroundings countryside is noted for its breath-taking coastal scenery, its lovely country walks and the popular sandy beaches of Carne and Pendower which are just over a mile away. Carne Beacon, Veryan Castle, Melinsey Mill are all well worth a visit and just a mile away. There is also a regular bus service to the cathedral city of Truro some 12 miles away, which has a wider selection of commercial and retail facilities.
The popular sailing resort of St. Mawes approximately 8 miles from Veryan offers a wider selection of shops and restaurants, together with a regular passenger ferry service to the port of Falmouth. Falmouth is full of cobbled streets, independent shops, the National Martime Museum and the ruins of Pendennis Castle, a 16th Century fort. Walk along the sandy beach at Gyullyngvase or along the coast paths and admire the wild life and the rugged views. If you are looking to get away from civilisation this is the place to be, surrounded by woodland and nature yet a short distance to the sea, it offers a tranquil escape throughout the year with its rugged cliffs, sandy beaches and charming fishing villages.
