Take a cruise on nearby Loch Ness with Urquhart Castle on its shores, visit the Cairngorm National Park with Aviemore at its centre, or slightly further afield, take a day trip to the beautiful Isle of Skye or north to the Orkney Islands. The area is renowned for the large number of historical attractions, which include Culloden Battlefield, Fort George, Cawdor and Brodie Castles to name just a few. Inverness has a large variety of restaurants, pubs and shops along with Eden Court Theatre and a 10-screen cinema.
