Perched high up above the town of Icod, Villa Wensley offers fabulous views towards the Atlantic in the distance and to the rear, wonderful views of Mt Teidi. The villa is on one level and offers an entrance hall, 2 double bedrooms, ensuite shower room, family bathroom, living room with dining table and fully equipped kitchen The villa has recently been refurbished .There is a smart TV with a wide choice of channels, good strength WIFI and a DVD’player which also acts as a CD player.
Our holiday home has a comfortable and welcoming feel, and benefits from a secluded garden and a balcony with views out over the Atlantic in the distance. Although the property has a rural feel, you are still close to everyday life, being near the picturesque town of Icod. Below the villa this part of town offers a supermarket, bakery, medical centre and several good restaurants within walking distance, or a short drive. Being on the edge of town you can get the best of amenities nearby and close to the countryside so good for walkers. It is quieter than being closer to the centre of Icod but there are sounds of daily life in the background as it isn't completely isolated. This is a great location for exploring the variety of places on the island. There is a fantastic farmers market each Sunday, offering a chance to purchase local produce. Icod is also proud to be home to the reputed oldest tree in the world, El Drago - The Dragon Tree. For those looking for more energetic activities, within a couple of minutes walk of the property you will find a small gym offering classes such as Zumba and pilates and an indoor padder court (mini tennis). There is also bike rental close by.
Drive just a few minutes up towards the mountains and you will feel as if you are in the middle of nowhere. There are no shortage of beautiful walks in this area, offering stunning views. You will find further details of the many hiking options in the villa.
Within a 10 minute drive you will find our attractive local beach, San Marcos, which offers a number of restaurants where you can enjoy local cuisine whilst listening to the waves lapping the shore. You will also enjoy Garachico, named the most picturesque town in Tenerife and famous for its natural rock pools, in which you can swim.
For those who enjoy a round of golf, Buenavista, a short 25 minute drive away, offers a world-class course overlooking the sea. For tennis fans, you will find courts available for hire in both Puerto Cruz and San Marcos.
Peurto Cruz, a 30 minute drive away, is home to the famous Loro Parque and Botanical Gardens, and provides a great family day out at it’s fabulous Marine Park.
Carnival season arrives in Tenerife in February and the Fiesta of Santa Cruz provides an atmosphere and spectacle to rival that of Rio’s.
The north of the island is famed for its spectacular scenery and many points of cultural interest, and although not experiencing as much sun as the south, the new fast road through the mountains puts the south within easy reach.
