Situated across the street from the ocean (Sitka Sound), A Water's Edge is a very spacious and cozy one bedroom, one bath, fully furnished and private apartment. It is well appointed and designed with a coastal theme in quaint Sitka, Alaska. You'll never be bored with the endless activity we call the "water life." Relax on the deck in the early morning or evening and watch for whales, sea lions and sea otter. Fishing boats coming and going after a days catch or even tour ships cruising by are beautiful sites. You will also have the opportunity to view bald eagles soaring or diving low to the water as they grasp their catch in their talons. The eagles are here year ‘round but the best time for abundant sea life is during the herring season (March-April). Your comfort is our goal, and we have supplied everything you can possibly need to feel right at home. We go far beyond the basics and you have quality linens, plush towels, and a supply of comfy comforters and extra pillows. A thick patch of salmon berry bushes in the yard allows plenty of mid to late summer picking. You can also enjoy gathering around our private fire pit nestled in thick foliage of berry bushes and ferns. Enjoy friends, cook a meal, roast s’mores all while enjoying the ocean view. There are countless activities in Sitka and especially several hiking trails to explore. Each season has an array of festivities from winter to summer including the Sitka Summer Musical Festival, craft bazaars and art markets.
