Built by a local craftsman, the cottage features decorative woodwork, charming furnishings and attention to detail that is evident in every aspect of this island getaway. The bicycles and kayaks for guests will provide amble opportunities to enjoy your outside time.
Isle la Motte is perfect for bike riding and exploration, which will surely include a walk to the Historic Fisk Farm for Sunday afternoon Tea. Each week in July and August, features musical entertainment and art exhibits on the lawn and in their historic horse and carriage barn. Every visit to the island should include a visit to the Fisk Quarry Preserve, a 20 acre site which contains rich wetland habitat for birds and animals as well as home to the 450 million year-old Chazy Fossil Reef . Be sure to also visit St Anne’s Shrine on the northern point of the island, the site of the island’s first French settlement in 1666, which included a fort and chapel.
