Positive: Located in a well maintained gated courtyard near Mole Antonelliana, the apartment is within easy strolling distance of many of Turin's best attractions, while still being very peaceful in the evenings. Access to the courtyard is by key, but the apartment itself uses a coded entry. There are several supermarkets nearby, along with lots of cafes, bars and restaurants, so getting anything needed for our stay was simple. We were met at the courtyard entrance by our host Paolo and shown around the spotless apartment and settled in with a welcome gift of local wine. The apartment itself consists of a large open plan kitchen-diner area accessed from the courtyard. Opening from the kitchen-diner is a lounge area with comfortable seating and large smart TV, as well as a downstairs utility room that held the washing machine and toilet suite. The kitchen, like the rest of the apartment, is equipped with everything you need for a longer stay - up to and including a dishwasher, Nespresso coffee machine, etc. - and finished to a very spec. From the kitchen-diner, a spiral staircase takes you to the larger of the bedrooms, where we slept, and separate shower room, while the cosy second bedroom is accessed via separate stairs from the lounge area. The shower room was again spotless and very well equipped, including an excellent walk-in shower. The bed was very comfortable and there was plenty of storage for 2 people with a week's worth of winter clothing. We initially thought the bedroom got quite cold at night, but soon realised that the radiator in the bedroom had been turned off at some point, after which we had no issues. While Wifi was excellent downstairs, the signal strength did fall off considerably if connecting from the bedroom. An extender may be something for our hosts to look at in the future.
Negative: Not a major issue, as we were given plenty of warning by Paolo but, while check-in was supposed to be available from 5:00pm, our host wasn't available until 6:00pm.
