Positive: Beautiful views of the mountains and the sea from the 360 degree balcony. Quiet location and plenty of space in the apartment. Small supermarkets opposite for essentials - but be aware that we arrived on a Sunday and everything was closed, so we had to travel to Sassari to find any food for the first night.
Negative: The owner was away for the duration of our visit but provided NO information about how things work in the apartment or anything about the local area. He left the keys with a neighbour, who did not speak English or show us anything useful in the apartment. So we did not know, for example, that the tap for the outside gas cylinder to light the cooker needed to be turned on before we could cook. The weather was unusually cold (snow/hail!) and the owner did not tell us until we asked on the last day that there was heating. In the living room/kitchen, he seemed to expect us to connect the gas heater ourselves to a gas cylinder, which we did not think it was safe to do without proper instructions, so we had no heating there. On the final evening, we had a power cut and the neighbour was not answering messages, so we were left in the dark and cold for over 3 hours until he returned. Meanwhile, the owner thought it was our job to go knocking on the doors of other apartments to get someone to unlock the fuse cabinet, rather than his job to call people and help sort it out. Really poor communication and really poor hosting. The apartment was not particularly clean when we arrived, e.g. the cooker was greasy and sticky. The owner also didn't bother to warn us in advance that the next door property has several large, vicious-sounding dogs that bark and jump behind a thin fence every time someone passes, which really scared the children at first. N.B. No broadband, no microwave and no dishwasher.
Summary: Nice, large apartment but a shame about the poor hosting
