Summary: The staff were very friendly but the entrance and check in area was so underwhelming and stank of wee or a strange ammonia type cleaning fluid, as did the stairwell and hall areas. Not helped by the fact we had to wait some time to check in because the bar was showing a football game. I heard other guests comment on the smell as well at breakfast. For the price I would have expected much better pillows and a cleaner more high end guest reception. A bit grubby and unkept overall and more basic than the price indicated. I don’t think I would stay again, even if they had an offer on. On the plus side, road noise and bar noise was minimal.
