Welcome to the best resort in Puerto Rico: St Regis Bahia Beach Resort and Golf Club. Situated in 483 gated acres of lush maritime forest in the north coast of Puerto Rico in what used to be an old coconut plantation, Bahia Beach combines elegance and deep respect for nature like no other place in the Caribbean. So much so that it is the only resort in the Caribbean to have received the prestigious Audubon International Gold Sanctuary award for its care of the natural habitat. It is aso the only resort in Puerto Rico to have received a AAA's five diamond rating for its outstanding level of service.
Bahia Beach Resort was designed to offer an unparalleled tropical experience. As you enter the property you will feel totally transported to a tropical paradise. Take a walk along the nature trails and enjoy the lush vegetation. Take a kayak down Espíritu Santo River among mangrove trees. Take a slow stroll along the 2 mile secluded beach. Enjoy a round of golf in the Robert Trent Jones, Jr. designed course with views of the majestic El Yunque National Rainforest. There is so much to explore and do here you might not want to leave the resort for the entire length of your stay.
Bahia Beach Resort shares the grounds with the St Regis Hotel so you can enjoy many of the amenities the five star Hotel has to offer. Thr St Regis Hotel is currently undergoing renovation and will reopen September this year.
Our property
Our fully air conditioned villa features 3 bedrooms and 3 baths is located in the Verandas Complex overlooking the 10th hole golf fairway. We call it Orchid Villa because we've planted 11 orchids among the vegetation in the terrace so most surely one or more plants will be in bloom when you visit. The villa is surrounded by vegetation so a tropical garden will be your view from every window or balcony. A covered terrace with plenty of space will be your favorite place to take a lazy afternoon nap, share a breakfast or enjoy a sun down happy hour. From the terrace you can step into the living area or the master bedroom. The master bedroom has a king size bed, smart tv and an en suite bath with a shower, jacuzzi and double vanity with separate toilet and bidet. The second master has a queen size bed, smart tv and a bath with a shower and double vanity. The third bedroom has two twin size beds that can be converted into a king size bed, smart tv and an adjacent bath with a shower and single vanity.
The kitchen is a cook's dream with SubZero fridge, GE stove top and oven, Bosch dishwasher and microwave and all the equipments and appliances you would ever need and to make a fantastic meal including one regular coffee and one expresso machine. The wet bar has a wine fridge and a commercial grade ice maker. The square dining table sits 8 and the adjacent living room has a 60" smart tv, cable, netflix, iPod station and high speed wireless internet. We also include with the villa completely free of charge a 4 passenger golf cart so you can enjoy moving around the resort.
Things to do
Our property rental fee includes the resort fee that will give you access to all the facilities of the Resort like the Boathouse, Member's Only Pool, Tennis Courts and Fitness Center.
If you enjoy swimming pools, the Verandas complex Swimming Pool is just steps away from our villa. Towels are supplied there so there is no need to bring your own. At the pool complex you will also find a pool table for a little game. In front of the pool there is a beautiful lawn where kids can enjoy a game of soccer.
From the villa take a short walk or drive the golf cart to the 2 mile long Beach. Our favorite beach spot is under the seagrape trees at the Sandollar Beach. Or rather take a long walk or a bike ride in one of the Nature Trails around the property.
Walk to the Boathouse where Marcela, our resident Biologist has her nature shop. There you can rent bikes to enjoy around the property and kayaks, paddle boards and sailboats to enjoy in the lake. Kids will love spending some time in the floating inflatable tower and jumping board. Our just hang out there for a while and try your luck fishing.
Be sure to spend some time in the Member's Only two level Swimming Pool right in front of Sugar Beach.The first level is for families with children, the second level is for people 13 years or older. Sit by the pool or the beach right in front and order some drinks or lunch. Our lounge at the bar right next to the pool. You can even rent your own cabana for the day for added comfort and privacy.
If Tennis is your passion there are four courts and a pro at your service. Right next to the Tennis courts is the first class Fitness Center full with stationary bikes and top of the line Pilates equipment. Once there, go behind the Gym and feed the turtles, fishes and ducks that live in the pond. That's another one of our favorite things to do in Bahia.
If nothing previously described interests you, it's time to head for the Spa at the St Regis Hotel for one of their many full body massages or beauty services. If you decide to go, ask for Josefina, she is amazing and my favorite masseuse at the Spa but they are all excellent.
Where to eat
There are several places you can eat at the Resort. Right behind our villa and next to the golf range you will find Cocoteros, where you can enjoy a nice breakfast, light lunch or an afternoon coffee or drink. My husband is a fan of their breakfast burritos. For lunch you can head to the The Beach Club for some local cuisine, have a lighter fare at the Member's Only Pool or head to the Seagrapes Restaurant next to the pool at the St Regis Hotel. For dinner, The Beach Club and Fern Restaurant by in St Regis are wonderful alternatives. Have a drink before or after dinner at the bar in the St Regis; the view is fantastic and the ambiance is elegant but relaxed.

Super Nice Extra
One super feature in Bahia Beach is the availability of the Concierge Services. As a guest at the Resort, the 9:00 to 9:00 staff will be available to you free of charge to help you with restaurant reservations, private cars and to coordinate tours and adventures outside the Resort like a regular Concierge Desk would do in a Hotel. They can even go grocery shopping and stock your fridge with your favorites before you arrive!
Adventures Outside the Resort
Bahia Beach is wonderfully located to enjoy several attractions outside the Resort. El Yunque National Rainforest, the largest rainforest in the Caribbean and the only one in the USA is only 15 minutes by car. Take a hike to the top or walk the nature trails and take a swim under a waterfall. It's invigorating!
Head towards Fajardo and kayak under the stars in the bioluminescent bay. Take a Catamaran for a snorkeling trip in the smaller keys. Our spend the day at the world famous Flamenco Beach in Culebra.
