Summary: If there was disclosure in the ad in VRBO that it was a resort, I would never have booked it! Their advertisement in VRBO does not disclose such info. I only found that out when I reached the security gate. Booking part was easy, but getting arrival information was impossible. A couple emails I sent to Key Caribe to ask for check in procedures and was told they sent me arrival info email already. I tried to explain that I couldn’t find any arrival related info. The so-called “arrival info” email was nothing but selling excursions. No driving instruction from airport to the property. No information on going through “security gate” in order to enter the premises. Since I didn’t know my unit so the guard refused to let me through. I had to dig through my emails to prove I did have a booking. Plus long queue to reach the gate so it took me more than 10min to get through. No instruction as how or where to get access key. I had to ask guard where to go to check in. First thing the front desk asked was my unit #, again, of course I had no answer. Mosquitoes n flys are rampaging, so be prepared to have plenty of repellents n buy lots of mosquitoes coils, if you want to open doors n windows for air. Not even a single fan was provided in the living area (no a/c), so you are at your own risks if you open the doors. Not a single cleaning product in kitchen n zero supply of bathroom toiletries. Walked to front desk twice n asked for face washing cloth, but no one ever showed up with it. So, it’s a “resort”, right? There’re tennis court, fitness center, a very small patch of beach (10min walk) with lounge chairs n umbrellas. But until my departure I still have no clue whether those facility are available to me. Housekeeping is great, so it earns the one star. The bungalow itself earns one star. I have been using HomeAway (VRBO) service for more than 15 years and this is definitely my worst experience. I will never use anything listed by Key Caribe nor will I return to this place!
