4 Bedroom House in Sandisfield

We saw this house, fell in love, bought it, spruced it up, and now we want to share it with you.
Our house is large, cozy, surrounded by woods and perfect for one or two families, or couples who want some privacy. You’ll enjoy the wood stove and many windows and skylights that let in sun and views of the woods around us. Best of all, you can hear the brook that flows behind our house, down a steep, wooded hill, whether you’re inside the house or on the back deck or patio.
On the main level, our open living room, dining room and sitting area with a TV and stereo, give you plenty of room to spread out or be cozy. For a quieter space, the large sunroom is a lovely place to read, chat, and enjoy the view. There is a well- stocked kitchen and dining area to cook meals and hang out around the table. Upstairs are 2 bedrooms with queen beds and a small office area, overlooking the first floor. Downstairs are another 2 bedrooms, one with 2 twin beds and one with a queen sized bed with their own cozy sitting area. Bathrooms with showers are on the main floor and upstairs.
Our house is stocked with everything necessary to have a fun and relaxing get away. When you want to be indoors, there are games and puzzles, a multi game table downstairs, as well as fiberoptic-wired internet and a 55” flat screen TV and stereo system. Or step outside to our large, tree-shaded patio outfitted with 2 tables, lounge chairs and a gas grill. We are part of a lovely wooded community where you will have access to the club house, exercise house, pool, lake, tennis and pickleball courts. Float in the lake, paddle our kayaks (we have two), take long walks around the community, hike the trails adjacent to it, or just relax at the pool. We provide floats, beach chairs and umbrella, and pickle ball rackets.
Staying here is like being at summer camp, yet we are 30 to 45 minutes from all the Berkshire attractions. Enjoy world class concerts at Tanglewood, modern dance at Jacob’s Pillow, and great theater at the Williamstown theater festival, Barrington Stage, Berkshire Theater group, and Shakespeare and Company. There are many restaurants and inns to suit all tastes and pocketbooks. Enjoy the region’s shopping, farmer’s markets, wineries, outdoor concerts, and beautiful country drives. Hike one of the many local trails, or enjoy skiing at Catamount, Butternut or Jiminy Peak ski slopes (all less than an hour away).
Please be aware that the house has many steps and stairs between levels. The land on the sides and front of the house is flat, but behind the house our property drops off to a steep slope. So, it is best for families with children over age 5.

Summary: We felt very welcome from the moment we began our 3 week stay. Our hosts left us cookies, coffee and tea as well as a book that answered any question that might come up. The house is beautiful - even nicer than the pictures. Robin and Steve have made it very homey. The space is extremely versatile. We were vacationing with 3 adult children and we all worked remotely at some point during our stay (the internet was excellent). There was space to be together as a family, to work quietly, or to congregate in separate rooms with friends without feeling cramped. The house has all of the amenities you could want including games, books, tv, beach chairs, kayak, pool loungers, etc. We prepared most of our own meals and the kitchen was well equipped. We loved all the natural light coming in from the skylights and the relaxing sound of the babbling brook behind the house. The community has tons of amenities including a beautiful lake, kayaking, tennis, pickleball and a gym for rainy day workouts. The other residents in the community were very friendly. The hikers and cyclists among us found many trails/rides nearby. We were close to Tanglewood, local culture and plenty of places to buy locally grown produce. A major supermarket was just 30 minutes away as well as the charm of local towns like Lee and Great Barrington. We would agree with our hosts that the house is not set up for small children. As this did not apply to us, it met our needs perfectly.
