Summary: My husband, friend, and I stayed at Casa Alaia from Jan 1-8, 2025. This home was my second booking after the first one cancelled on me last minute, which is why we booked such a large home for just three people, it will easily sleep eleven or twelve. Jerson, the property manager was amazing, very friendly, helpful, and professional. The home itself is gorgeous, everything as listed except for the "hot tub" which Jerson mis-understood as the property having hot water; not a deal breaker. It is a little odd that the kitchen sink only has cold water, but again, not a deal breaker. The house was also extremely clean and the back patio was our favorite place to hang out and enjoy drinks and Costa Rican cigars. The neighborhood is cute and quiet, and we saw scarlet macaws (!) and capuchin monkeys in the trees across the street along with several species of songbirds. The house is about a 15-20 minute drive to the town of Quepos, 30 minutes or so to Manuel Antonio. We did not rent a car, so Jerson recommended a driver named Luis and we used him several times during our trip, he was amazing! We used Costa Rica Shuttle from SJO to the house and back to the airport, about a 3 hour ride for appx 200 USD each way, great service and well worth the price. We loved staying at Casa Alaia and would book again if we came back to this area of Costa Rica. Pura Vida!
