Summary: Casa Malinche Grande is a fantastic house in Playa Grande, in a super convenient location. The highlights were the two minute walk to the beach, the beach club next door with tons of food options like amazing sushi (like really!), burgers, cocktails, draft beer, coffee, and ice cream, the great pool and outdoor lounge area, and the living room to hang out in and stay cool during the heat of the day. Our group was three families with kids of varying ages so the convenience of having close by amenities was crucial. The house grounds were well kept. The house itself is nice, but there are a few things that need attention like the sliding doors, and an ant problem in one of the rooms when we arrived, but these things aren’t uncommon in Costa Rica, so I wouldn’t let it deter you from booking. Ludwig, who handles the maintenance was such a kind and welcoming person, and helped us with any requests we had. There are cleaners who will come every other day (or so) to clean the house, which is great for longer stays. When you arrive, if you need anything like soap, or paper towels, just ask and they will bring it for you. Playa Grande as a location is awesome as it’s still small and developing unlike nearby Tamarindo, but just be aware of that if you’re considering the area and you’re unfamiliar with it. The wave is really good, and the locals were friendly enough. Ripjack’s restaurant is super good. Food and various services seemed similar price to the USA, so don’t surprised!
