Positive: The size of the unit was very good. It had 3 bathrooms, which was amazing.
Negative: The kitchen was not very well equipped. It did not have basics like tea towels, dish rags, sponges, dish soap, a broom, garbage bags, or paper towels. The water jug that we were given was covered in dirt. I had to wipe it numerous times with wipes to get all the dirt off. We were only supplied one jug, then had to get out our own water. The pool was small but nice. However, the hot tub/balcony from above dripped water down on us continuously. Over the edge of their balcony The listing said there was a hot tub, there was but it was only for the unit above. We were there for 8 days, and no clean towels or cleaning service was offered. The beds were comfortable, but we described them as "Mexican Kings." They were basically queen sized beds flipped side ways, long for the top of the body but our feet hung of the bottom. There was only one pillow person. The unit smelt very humid when we first got there. We had to run the A/C for 3 or 4 days for it to finally start smelling fresh. There was no hot water for the first 5 or 6 days. They fixed it twice, and then it finally worked. The water pressure in the primary bedroom was just a trickle out of the shower head. The location was on a dirt road with LOTS of rocks. I would recommend a higher car. We had a sedan style rental and hit the bottom of our car all the time. The location is far from central, make sure to rent a car or except to use lots of taxis. When we arrived, there were 3 or 4 police cars outside our unit with guns and looking around. Seemed strange. They didn't say anything and then just left. We were not greeted by a host at any point. It was "self-serve" check-in/out, which was very impersonal. Overall, it was a good experience in Puerto Escondido because we were visiting my sister, but I would not recommend or return here.
