Turnworth is a wonderful country house located in the picturesque village of Yarnton. In a quiet neighbourhood and with a large south facing garden, it’s the ideal place to get away to and relax.
With Oxford just to the south, the Cotswolds to the west, Woodstock and the fabulous Blenheim Palace just up the road to the north and London an hour train ride east, it’s also ideally situated for a perfect holiday.
Turnworth has many fine wonderful original features including original large wooden beams in the old part of the house. On the ground floor you have a large dining room with a coal gas fire, perfect for entertaining and holding evenings filled with great conversation and good food. Next door is the living area with plenty of room for everyone to stretch out with a cup of tea or watch a movie cosying up in front of the log burning stove.
There is also the fully equipped kitchen with everything you need to cook up a storm, be that a big brunch to set you up for a big day’s exploring or an evening meal to enjoy catching up with friends and family. The conservatory that adjoins the kitchen is an incredible suntrap - perfect for morning coffee! There is a loo and shower room with a power-shower also on the ground floor.
There are Sonos speakers available for your use in the living room and the kitchen. Upstairs we have three good sized bedrooms, one with a super-king sized bed, the second bedroom with a king sized bed and the third with a single bed. The family bathroom serves all three bedrooms and enjoys a bathtub and a shower.
There are some terrific walks either directly from the house or in the locality and a great selection of welcoming pubs and excellent restaurants nearby.
A well-stocked convenience store is just a short walk away. Turnworth is our home and we look forward to sharing it with others who will appreciate its charm.
We have regular bus services that take you direct to Oxford or go north past Woodstock - Yarnton is extremely accessible on public transport too!
