2 Bedroom Villa in Videm, Ptuj
Do you need an escape from everyday life, relaxation and time for loved ones? Retreat to a peaceful village where you can relax and recharge in a comfortable country villa with a stunning view that guarantees relaxation in any season.
The villa is new and nicely decorated, fully equipped kitchen, two bedrooms and three bathrooms. It includes a sauna, a large bathtub, an outdoor pool, a garden grill, and free rental bicycles, fitness bikes and a boat that can be used to ride on the property's pond. The villa also has its own vegetable garden.
Villa Hojnik is located in Haloze in the eastern part of Slovenia, on a hill above the village and above all offers a quiet place to rest, far away from the hustle and bustle and stress. The large terrace and numerous windows offer an unforgettable view over the village and the surrounding hills. The villa and its surroundings offer many recreational activities (swimming pool, sauna, cycling, walks, boating on the pond, river fishing, mushroom picking, dealing with animals on the ranch - Scottish cattle, ducks, chickens, rabbits). At the same time, the village is only 10 minutes away from the oldest Slovenian town, Ptuj, and half an hour from the nearest restaurant with a Michelin star. The place makes it possible to explore the four-state region. Croatia is only 10 minutes away from the house, while Austria and Hungary are a good half hour away.
It is a special villa, surrounded by green meadows and forests, in a peace that is hard to find these days.
In Villa Hojnik, you can create your own private spa in all seasons. The house has a Finnish sauna for 3 people, a large bathtub for 2 people, and a swimming pool in the garden.
When using the pool and sauna, consider your own swimming abilities and the restrictions regarding the safe use of the Finnish sauna.
The beneficial effects of saunas have been known for many years. During the sauna, we relax and calm down. Our body is detoxified, the respiratory tract is purified, and the blood circulation of the skin is also improved. The Finnish sauna is a sauna where the body is exposed to high air temperatures in a closed, insulated, wooden room with low humidity. It has a temperature of 80°C-110°C, and a relative air humidity of 5-10%. Due to the low air humidity, it is especially suitable for healthy people. The recommended time of use is three times for 8-15 minutes, with a break of 10-20 minutes in between. After the sauna, it is necessary to shower with cold water, which quickly compresses the veins, which strengthens the immune system, and at the same time strengthens and strengthens the body.
- Picnic basket: maximum 500 meters from pitches to pitches
Upon request, we prepare a picnic basket with local produce and products for you upon arrival or during your stay. When assembling the basket, we follow the principle of "no more than 500 meters from fork to fork". This means that all crops and products come from gardens, fields, bread ovens and vineyards within a 500m radius of Villa Hojnik. The offer includes homemade bread, salami, crackers, cheese and cottage cheese, pastries, homemade apricot or plum jam, freshly picked raspberries from organic production, homemade light beer, homemade plum brandy, local wine, etc. Open the basket and have a snack on the terrace of Villa Hojnik, at the table in our hayloft, on the meadow, by the river Drava or in the forest clearing.
Upon request, we can deliver wine from a local supplier to your villa (the vineyard is 1 km from the villa) or book an appointment for a wine tasting at one of the local wineries.
- Horse riding
While walking around the village, you can see various animals that graze in the pastures along the road (goats, sheep, donkeys, cows, horses) in all seasons. You can also ride horses on the neighboring farm.
- Mushroom picking and fishing
During the mushroom season, mushroom lovers will enjoy the surrounding forests, which at the right time offer the best porcini mushrooms and chanterelles. Mushrooms are a public good in Slovenia and anyone can pick them. But according to the nature conservation law, one person can collect no more than 2 kg of them per day.
The fishing season is much longer in the Drava River, which is only 200 meters away from Villa Hojnik. It is only a little further to the mouth of the river Dravinja in Drava, which is a place for real adventurers and fishermen. You can buy fishing tickets online at the Ptuj Fishing Family (here). You do not need a fishing license to fish in the pond on the property of which you will be the temporary owner. The pond under the hayloft is full of carp.
- Cycling along the Drava cycling route and Šturmovci Landscape Park
Villa Hojnik offers free bicycle rental for the duration of your stay. Village roads offer carefree cycling, during which you will rarely encounter a car.
The villa is 8 km away from the 710 km long bicycle route of the four countries, which runs along the Drava River from Italy, Austria, through Slovenia and Croatia. The closest point to join the route is at Lake Ptuj between Šturmovci and Markovci.
The path to Lake Ptuj leads through the Šturmovci Landscape Park. It is a 125 ha large flood area of the Dravska loka, which is an effective reservoir of high water, and which is still characterized by a diversity of habitats. Thus, in a small area, we can see everything from gravel beds, shoals, dead arms and wells, to mowed and unmowed flood forests and meadows. It is interesting that the greater part of the park lies on the island of Drava, which according to sources is considered the largest Slovenian island.
- Sledding in the snow
When it snows in winter and the whole village is white, you can take the sled in the basement and sled down the hill.
- The historic city of Ptuj with its festivals, spas and wellness offer
If you are not from the region, you must visit the oldest Slovenian city of Ptuj during your stay.
At the busy crossroads of trade routes, where it was possible to safely cross the Drava, people settled as early as the end of the third millennium BC. In the late Iron Age, the area was settled by the Celts, and the city experienced its greatest prosperity with the arrival of the Romans. At that time, the area of Poetovione, which was one of the most important headquarters of the Roman army, had around 30,000 inhabitants, according to archaeologists' estimates.
Today's Ptuj is a vibrant European center of culture, a city of festivals, exceptional ethnographic tradition and living tradition. It is characterized by Terme Ptuj, Ptuj Castle, Town Hall, Church of St. George and the Dominican Monastery (Ptuj attractions). Stop by the lovely cafe Muzikafe in the old town. The Valens Augusta Wellness Center in the Grand Hotel Primus allows you to walk along unique paths of relaxation through three worlds. Kurent or korant is the most popular and massive traditional carnival character. Kurentovanje can be found on the list of the top 10 carnivals in the world, spring is marked by the Goodness of Slovenian farms. Summer breathes with the contemporary art festival Art Stays, the Arsana music festival and the Days of Poetry and Wine, as well as Roman plays and medieval displays and traditional fairs. Autumn is marked by wine events (Martinovanje), while December is festively fabulous.
- Rogaška Slatina
Or perhaps the spa town of Rogaška Slatina, 45 minutes away, known for its unique natural mineral water, will take you by storm. Slatine mineral water contains the most natural magnesium in the world, which is why it has many positive effects. It invigorates, regenerates, cleanses, rejuvenates and even heals. The city has a rich offer of wellness centers and allows you to discover the power of healing magnesium for yourself.
- Castles and mansions
A series of castles can be reached from Villa Hojnik by car, bicycle or on foot. Some are better preserved than others, but all bear witness to the life of our region in the past. Borl Castle can be seen from the balcony of Villa Hojnik. We also recommend visiting Ptuj Castle, Turnišče Castle, Dornava Castle, Štatenberg Castle and Trakoščan Castle (Croatia).
The 600-year-old Basilica of Mary the Patroness on Ptujska Gora is also of special importance.
