Located 1 hour north of the Twin Cities, this vintage-inspired 2-bedroom, 1 bath vacation rental cottage has been family-owned since 1946. It offers all of the amenities of home (free wifi, Alexa, technology charging station, bedside lamps with USB chargers, dishwasher, Roku) and all the relaxation and beauty of "lake life".
Located on the eastern shore of the lake, the cottage offers stunning sunsets, 75 feet of lakeshore, and plenty of lawn to enjoy bonfires and yard games. A fully fenced-in backyard, swing set, and sandbox provide fun for the kids while the parents relax.
Use the public boat launch and anchor your boat to the private dock or use the provided canoe and paddleboat to explore the 1,500-acre lake.
Pokegama Lake boasts 2 restaurants (both accessible by car or boat), 2 boat launches, and access to the Snake River and Cross Lake. Relax or watch the kids swim from the shade of an umbrella while you sit on dock mounted swivel chairs. Joining them in the lake for a dip or float is easy via the convenient dock stairs and the sandy beach provides the perfect place to play in the sand or build a castle.
**Lake Pokegama is a river fed lake and as such the conditions of the lake are ever changing and can be unpredictable. While normally it is a great lake for swimming and fishing, occasionally the lake may experience both high and low water levels as well as unexpected algae blooms. Thank you for understanding that we do not have control of the weather or lake conditions. Refunds and discounts will not be given if the lake conditions prevent or hinder its use in any way. We will, however, do everything within our control to provide you with a 5 star stay.

-The Cottage rental agreement, guest registration form, agreement to the house rules as well as any other required paperwork must be returned within 24 hours of booking for the reservation to be valid.
-CHECK-IN after 4:00 p.m. Early check-in may be available upon request if back-to-back bookings are not scheduled.
-CHECK OUT before 10:00 a.m. Late checkout may be available upon advanced request. Please review the check-out procedures at the end of the guidebook prior to leaving. Late check out without prior approval will result in additional fees.
-Respect our neighbors and their property.
-Please be mindful of the noise you are making. Quiet hours start at 10 pm.
-Please feel free to use any of the supplies you can find in the kitchen, bathroom, bedrooms, and cupboards. If something is used up, please let us know so that we can replenish it for the next guest.
- Please do not leave minors unattended.
-We recommend all minors wear life jackets while in or near the lake.
-No diving in the lake. The lake is shallow and there could be unseen hazards such as logs or rocks below the surface.
-All activities at The Cottage are done at your own risk including swimming and use of other included amenities.
-Please make sure to lock up the canoe, and shed when you are finished using them and return all items to their proper place.
-Absolutely no smoking or vaping on or in the property. Smoking tobacco, marijuana, e-cigarettes (vaping), or smoking any other substances is strictly prohibited anywhere on the property. Smoke smells or other evidence of the above will result in extra fees or loss of security deposit.
-Absolutely no illegal activity is allowed on the property.
-Garbage and recycling are collected from the bins alongside the garage. When the bins inside The Cottage are full and at the end of your stay, please transfer the bags to the outdoor bins. Please make sure to close the lid. The garbage collection is on Mondays. If your stay includes a Monday, please have the large bins on the curb by 6:50 am for pick up on Monday morning.
-Up to 2 dogs allowed with prior homeowner approval and paid $100 dog fee. Additional dogs may be considered with payment of an additional $100 dog fee. Prior approval must be given by the owner for additional dogs. No other types of animals are allowed.
-Please clean up after your dog both inside and outside and keep your dog on a leash or in the fenced yard at all times. Leashes and tie-outs are available for your use in the front room credenza.
-Events, parties, and large gatherings are prohibited
-Only registered guests are allowed on the property. No additional visitors are allowed on the property at any time without prior approval from the owner
-Must be at least 25 years old to book
-Additional fees and taxes may apply during booking
Check Out Instructions:
1. Please turn off all the lights in the cottage(including the outside lights) and ensure all
appliances are off.
2. If you changed the temperature, please set the thermometer back to 75 degrees if the air conditioning is on and 65 degrees if the heat is on.
3. Please ensure no food is left in the refrigerator ,and cupboards are cleared of items you brought
4. Please ensure the canoe is locked and that all water toys, outdoor games, fishing rods etc. are stored in the shed which is also locked.
5. Please ensure all used dishes are clean and placed in the cabinets.
6. Please take the garbage and recycling out to the containers on the side of the garage.
7. Please ensure all windows and doors are closed and locked. Do one last walk through to be sure you have everything
- NOTE: The property sleeps 4 guests in beds, with space for 2 guests on the full sleeper sofa, and 1 more guest on the twin sleeper sofa, bringing the maximum occupancy to a total of 7.
