Summary: Great location and just what we wanted/needed. Host was easy to communicate with and answered questions quickly. My husband, 2 kids and I stayed in this house for 16 days and it was a quick walk into city center and very short walk to the Abby. The local pubs were all welcoming and most had good food (miss the days of jacket potatoes in all pubs, lived off them as a kid). The house was clean, tidy and had most things we needed (only 2 drinking glass but 10 wine glasses, a larger pot to boil pasta would be nice). There were extra blankets and pillows if needed. The beds were interesting, probably rather old but having all single beds made for good nights of sleep. Parking is available up the street a bit but is costly ($65 per week) but there was always a space available. We were there for the hottest day of the year and thankfully brought a fan with us and ran up to Wilko and purchased two small fans for the kids rooms. So if you are there in the summer, bring a fan or 2 to keep cool. The house does stay cool if the windows and shutters are closed during the day. It was a nice quiet area, only hearing normal level of voices of those walking by in the evening with the windows open. Having a lot of family in the area and visiting occasionally (from the US), we would definitely stay here again.
