Summary: The property and beach are beautiful, with a reef just a five-minute boat ride away, offering amazing snorkeling. The beach has both shaded and sunny areas, making it perfect for relaxation. The catamaran trip was fun, especially swimming in a cave. However, the service was disappointing. When we checked in maintenance was notified right away that our AC did not work and it took hours and several calls and we were moved to a different room without a view and when we complained maintenance finally came and fixed the AC and we were able to move back. The water sports attendants were rude and unhelpful. The first two days the wakeboarding boat was broken and we asked if they could call us when it was fixed they said no just keep checking in each morning. We asked for the clear canoe they said we wouldn't be able to see anything come back later. They also tried to talk us out of sailing saying the wind wasn't good. We insisted this time and had a great sailing experience. We thought the no tipping would be a benefit but the service suffered too much. They rules are very restrictive for dinner reservations and water sports so plan accordingly. Not everything is as advertised. They say a free shuttle to Ricks, it's actually $18 per person. No bus to Margaritaville but it is not a far walk. While the natural beauty of the resort was stunning, the lack of service and unclear communication made it hard to justify the high price. Not likely to return given the overall experience.
