Summary: We had a fun farm experience (horses, a gorgeous turkey, roosters and hens) in the beautiful hills of Virginia. Be prepared for the other farm realities (mud, ants, flies, and farm smells). Of course, my dog LOVED all those smells. Even my bird had a good time watching the horses frolick in the pasture right outside the window. The cottage had most of the basic amenities, but the furniture and decor could use an upgrade. Close to good food, wineries and historic towns. Prepare to be welcomed by 2 Australian Shepherds and a gracious host.
