Summary: This large and well-loved "family cabin" with an "easy going" vibe was a nice place for quiet retreat. The layout is great. There are numerous great spaces indoors as well as outdoors on the porches, for reading, napping, enjoying the fresh air. Even though the last reviewer cautioned not to arrive in the dark, we did, and experienced how hard it was to find. It's worth it! But renters take note: The GPS took us only until turning off the main road, then we had to hunt in the dark. There is only one sign pointing down a long, steep dirt road until you get all the way to the house. There had been a huge wind storm night before, so the road itself was a bit hard to find with the accumulation of leaves. If it had been wet, our rear wheel drive vehicle would have had a tough time, but luckily it was dry. Took us awhile but we did figure it out. I advise renters to bring specific written directions for the last 5 blocks at least; or a print-out of a map, don't rely on GPS. Part of our confusion and a good reason for visitors to map it completely-- I had thought the house was on the lake side, since it has its own dock. The lake was actually across the street, about a 5-10 minute walk down the hill. Very enjoyable little dock with chairs. The bed in the master was very comfortable--we slept so well. Loved that back porch and outdoor fire place. REally a sweet place. Owner was super nice to help me get registered when VRBO system was being futzy.
