Travel Purpose: leisure
Positive: The owner was very responsive to all messages prior to our arrival. And then, since she lives in the home, she was always present to offer advice about the area or her home. She/Denise was super friendly. The home is a gated property a short walk (5-700m) to the tram as well as a boulangerie, grocery stores and cafes/restaurants. The tram is free and can take you into the town of Aubagne. The apartment is on two levels. The kitchen is well appointed with stovetops (x2), microwave, coffee maker, toaster and refrigerator (the freezer section while cold does not freeze things). We did not cook there, but it appeared that there was all the necessary cooking utensils necessary to do so. There was an abundance of plates, glasses and flatware. There is a patio attached to the kitchen with a table that was wonderful to sit out on and eat. There is also a table in the kitchen. The patio has an awning that can be employed to keep the sun off you while you are sitting outside. The upstairs consist of a salon (with TV, we didn’t try to use), a room with a toilet, 2 bedrooms (that also have doors that open onto another patio) and a large bathroom with the shower, sink, mirrors and bidet. Both bedrooms have AC available for you to control and our bedroom has lots of cabinet space for folding and hanging clothes. (I don’t know about our travel partner’s bedroom storage space). The house was extremely clean. The outside space has a clothesline for use. (She has a washing machine. She washed our friends’ clothes for the price of 6€. I don’t know if it was one or two loads). There are sun/lounge chairs in the yard and there is a grass space for kids to run/play in (approx. 10x15m). It probably says in the advertisement of the home, but I guess I missed it, there is a 300€ cash deposit upon arrival. We received all of the deposit back after she inspected our area, when we departed.
Negative: We had to buy ice for the freezer as the freezer did not freeze items, but did keep them cool.
Summary: Very clean and comfortable home hosted by nice and informative hostess.
