MONTE GRACE
A little way up the village alley, following the so-called "carruggi" and you are on beautiful hiking trails
towards the Ligurian Alps through the cultivated olive groves of the well-known Olive Taggiasca.
Down the village, past the church square past the school, a small road leads to the sanctuary of Santuario and
the opposite Ristorante "Agriturismo al Santuario".
Here you can get a local menu and regional (linking Vermentino & Pigato) wines at very moderate prices
in a wonderful ambience under the pergola or on cool days in the old vicarage to enjoy the wonderful panorama.
IMPERIA
Montegrazie is a district of Imperia and is located a few kilometers away from the provincial town, a very busy coastal town
with the two districts of Porto Maurizio and Oneglia.
From the west, Imperia shows itself from its most beautiful side.
From afar you can see the old town center of Porto Maurizio, the "Parasio" with its imposing, enthroned on a hill,
ancient buildings. Through small narrow streets, the path winds up to the Cathedral of San Maurizio and offers, arrived up there
an indescribable view of the bay and the picturesque surroundings. A real eye-catcher of the Parasio is the Gothic Palazzo Pagliari
and the loggia of Santa Chiara.
Not far from the Parasio is Via Cascione, the shopping street of Porto Maurizio. There you can buy daily in the market hall or weekly on the market fresh Ligurian food.
On the "Lungomare", a narrow street by the sea with pastel-colored houses, quirky bustle and many restaurants (Sarri 5 *), pizzerias (La Bonga), bars, cafes and beach clubs is located below a long beach of sand and pebbles.
Along the beach promenade, in the direction of Porto Maurizio, you come to the small, old, very lively fishing port of the "Borgo della Foce", which still retains its charm with its old and colorful fishing boats, houses and a small beach in a protected pier Has. Here it is worthwhile to stay at any time of the day, whether it is early, midday or evening, to the café, aperitif, dinner or jazz concert.
A beautiful riverside path continues, above quiet pebble and sandy beaches to the marina, the small marina and a large popular sandy beach Spiaggia d 'Orro with small restaurants and bars overlooking the old town and the sea.
Oneglia is the more bustling part of Imperia, characterized by industry such as (Pasta producer Agnesi, Olive oil production Fratelli Carli).
In the center around the large Piazza Dante and the main shopping street Via Silvio Bonfante (arcades) are numerous shops and bars.
(On the piazza on the right is the Café Piccardo, the first café on the square, especially on rainy days.)
Passing the pedestrian area in Piazza San Giovanni, you will find yourself on Wednesdays and Saturdays in the hustle and bustle of the weekly market, here it is recommended to make a detour to the popular bar Madama D'ore and to taste the excellent focaccia.
A few steps further on is the port of Oneglia. The small fishing boats, the old house fronts with the arcades stand in contrast to the sophisticated luxury yachts. Along the main quay are many restaurants and fish shops.
