The sustainable bamboo house, exquisitely designed and finished, is a masterpiece by Italian architect Anna Iola Zanetti, an internationally recognized innovator in sustainable architecture, and has been featured in environmental conventions, literature, and university field studies. The home is the showcase in a small, exclusive eco-community of 5 bamboo homes with an emphasis on sustainability and low impact footprint. The screened-in, open-air bamboo construction and the cathedral ceilings eliminate the need for air conditioning and allow for a truly unique, immersive jungle experience. You will be surrounded with the sight and sounds of monkeys, birds, frogs and the soft roar of the surf. The Sea Monkey House is plunged in plush greenery, and directly adjacent to the Reserva Oropopó and a short walk to famous Cabo Blanco Reserva Absoluta. It is a bird-watcher’s paradise: an expert connected to the Oropopo Preserve has recorded eighty different bird species in a single day. We have had repeated wildlife sightings near the house: Anteaters, Agouti, Coati Mundi, Iguanas, two species of Monkeys, Armadillos, Toucans, Parrots, Motmot Birds, White Tailed Deer, Blue Morpho Butterflies, Hummingbirds and more.
There are three bedrooms with queen size beds, and a total of two and a half bathrooms (the master bedroom has an en suite bathroom), plus two outdoor showers. The porch has an oversize sofa for socializing and relaxation and pool area sofa and loungers. There is a full kitchen, dining area as well as an outdoor bar with a large gas barbecue.
