Our apartment that we rent is located on the lower floor, of a completely restored traditional half-timbered house that is over 100 years old.
The old house was originally located elsewhere in Germany and was moved and rebuilt here 34 years ago.
The entire building is built against a mountain and both the half-timbered house and the apartment have a fantastic view.
You reach this beautiful and spacious apartment via a natural staircase.
The entrance is on the side.
The apartment has its own private terrace over the entire length.
The area is called "Tuscany of Germany" for a reason.
If you follow the road towards the top of the "Pön" mountain (reachable for the first km by car) and you are tired after 3.8 km, a delicious restaurant with excellent food and delicious local drinks awaits you.
You can walk, run or cycle directly from the apartment into nature.
Enjoying the famous Knijp foot baths (500 meters away) is definitely recommended.
In winter you can go down to a small slope a little further down the mountain. The slope has its own ski lift. Really nice for the kids.
Of course for the advanced skiers, the village of Willingen (11 km) is a must where there are no fewer than 18 runs.
Winterberg, which is previously known by the Dutch, is also very easy to drive (23 km)
Both villages are also very attractive for a snack and a drink or to go shopping.
If you want to go water skiing you can go to the Hellebachsee or if you prefer to swim in open water the Diemelsee and the Edersee National Park can be reached within 26 minutes.
For the animal lovers there is a petting zoo in Willingen, where adults can taste fresh produce and children can take a ride on a pony.
Finally for your shopping you can visit the neighboring village of Usseln (6 km)
There are also a few cozy restaurants including restaurant Post, local pub / snack bar and a pizzeria.
