Summary: I’m sorry to report that this property was not at all as represented. My husband was the one who selected the property, and he was confused when we arrived, remembering that the house had “seemed much nicer” in the listing, particularly for the price we were paying. On arriving back home we re-checked the photos on the VRBO listing and saw that the property had been completely transformed from what we saw in the listing photos. All of the nice furnishings, wall hangings and bedding had been stripped away, to be replaced by cheap Ikea-style furniture throughout. The nice window coverings had been replaced by plastic vertical blinds. (I saved screen shots of the photos in the listing just in case there is any confusion about this.) I can understand some wear and tear, chipped paint, and even soiled carpets in a rental property — ALL of which were definitely present as well — but not wholesale misrepresentation of the furnishings and appointments. Follow-up note: I gave the host the opportunity to reply to this complaint and issue a partial refund before posting this review. In reply, she characterized the replacement of the furnishings as an “update” (no), and pointed us to our paperwork: “NO REFUNDS.” I have also provided these details to VRBO. Buyer beware.
