Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: The location was excellent right in the centre of the old city, many restaurants, shops, historical sites, churches, museums and a supermarket across the road. The apartment is lovely with large bedrooms and a large dining table. The apartment was very well equipped and we could cook and eat many of our meals at home. Our hosts were generous and friendly and responsive to all our requests. They were concerned about our comfort during the heatwave.

Negative: It was hot temperatures in the late 30s to early 40s and the top floor apartment was stifling, the hosts went out of their way to make our stay more comfortable but the apartment is an historical building and so far they have been unable to install air-conditioning. These were unprecedented temperatures for Troyes and most people were in the same situation. Our host brought us extra fans to cope with the heat which helped to a point. The apartment is on a main square which is noisy especially when your method of cooling down a little is opening the double glazed windows.
