Positive: We absolutely loved the place. Alexandra is a great host- warm and friendly, happy to stop for a chat and offer suggestions for the local area. The house is beautiful- guests have access to a large downstairs living area and the vast grounds. Everything is tastefully furnished and every detail is carefully considered, right down to the selection of teas and the use of a coffee machine if leaving early, like we did. The bedroom was very spacious and super clean and the bed was by far one of the most comfortable we have ever slept in. It was very hot potside but whilst the property does not have air con, the rooms are cool and comfortable due to the thick walls of the house. The views and the sound of the river was an incredible thing to wake up to. The river is great to cycle along- we cycled the 25 or so minutes to a nearby chateau- Chenonceau- but there would be other options for exploring the local area had we had longer than one night there. The area is also known for the frequent hot air balloon trips; we were greeted by a number of them floating over the house as we were leaving early around 7am- what a sight! We chose the property as a stop over on the way to the south and could not have been happier with our choice- very convenient for the motorway, yet completely idyllic and peaceful, and in a different league to run of the mill hotel we have often booked in the past. Our only regret is that we only stayed for one night and hope to be able to stay longer in the future.
