Positive: The Chalet was charming, well appointed, well equiped and comfortable. The owner Damienne was always supportive and helpful. We were able to converse successfully using translate apps that are on smartphones. I would highly recommend this chalet. The location is good, we were able to easily drive (up to) and park at the Bettex Arbois lift car park. There is then a walk (say 200m to the lift?). If you use the bus it takes you directly to the lift. We hired a set of skis and boots from a shop within a few feet of the lift. Their English was excellant and cannot recommend them highly enough, Loca Ski Betex 4360 Route du Bettex, 74170 Saint Gervais Les Bains. We found them via the Alpineresorts.com web site.
Negative: Whilst charming and not to be put off, be aware that the lighting is mainly from table style lamps spread throughout the property.
Summary: Easy parking and would very happily return to this lovely chalet
