A well positioned, beautiful and welcoming authentic larch clad log cabin situated near to Dalavich Village and in a remote part of Argyll with views of Loch Awe & mountains beyond. A home in the wilderness with endless trails and paths for walkers of all ability’s and cyclists too. Loch Awe is also world known for superb fishing ( permit included ), and is used for many water sports including sailing and kayaking. Local Boat Hire is available and trips can be made to Inneschonnel Castle ( subject to weather conditions ). Osprey nest on one of the local islands.
The property consists of three bedrooms and sleeps 6 ( ideal for 4 x adults + 2 x children ). The main bedroom is a mezzanine galleried room reached by a staircase leading from the living area, complete with en-suite . For the star gazers there is a well positioned large transom window.
In addition there is a double bedroom with wardrobe and separate bunk room housing bunk beds, suitable for children / teenagers. A separate family shower room with heated towel rail is situated on the ground floor. The kitchen is substantial and well equipped.
A great addition and feature of this stunning property is a boot room allowing plenty of storage and room for outdoor clothing and footwear. The adjoining doorway leads to a comfortable and welcoming living area with cosy log burner. The log burner easily has the capability of heating the whole cabin, although free standing electric heaters are also provided for guests use.
The living / lounge is also equipped with FREESAT Smart TV and French Doors which open on to substantial decking with balcony.
Free wi-if is provided and the property holds Hyperion local fishing rights.
Outside there is an attractive roped landscaped garden with bench and bbq facility. We encourage wildlife and have plenty of feeders for the many visiting wild birds including woodpecker and an abundance of robin. Local pine marten often visit our feeding station and the odd red squirrel will hop on to the decking from time to time.
We welcome 1 well behaved dog per stay ( subject to small additional cleaning fee ).
The local village store is open most of the week and provides take away food and basic provisions (please check opening times).
The well photographed Kilchurn Castle is situated at the north eastern end of the Loch and within an hours drive is the port of Oban giving access by ferry to the Western Islands. Kilmartin Museum and St. Conans Kirk are other local historic attractions well worth a visit.
