Completed in 2019, 3 bedroom, 3 full ensuite bathroom cottage located directly across from Mackerel Cove (voted one of Maine s 10 most beautiful by DownEast). Across from Johnson Field and close to Library Hall which are both prime wedding locations on Bailey Island.
This house has spectacular views of Mackerel Cove and the public beach of Mackerel Cove is just across the street. Mackerel Cove is a working cove, so you can watch the lobster boats come and go and buy your lobsters right off the dock. There is also a public boat launch at Mackerel Cove.
The house is new. It was built to maximize the terrific views with lots of windows and high ceilings. The first floor has a spacious open-plan kitchen, living room, dining room and large front porch. Also on the first floor is a full bathroom and a bedroom with a queen-sized bed.
The second floor has two large bedrooms each with ensuite full bathroom. The front bedroom has a queen-sized bed and looks out to Mackerel Cove over Johnson Field. The back bedroom has two full-sized beds and views of Merriconeag Sound from the windows. Also on the second floor is an outside deck with seating, perfect for taking in the sunset.
The house has all new appliances including washer/dryer, dishwasher, 52" tv. It is tastefully furnished with plenty of spots to entertain, read a book or enjoy the views. The house is fully heated.
There is a very spacious front porch with rockers, chairs and a large table suitable for entertaining or enjoying meals outside.
Also on the property, and rented separately, is the Nugget which is
a one-bedroom cottage with full bathroom and kitchen that has been totally renovated. Perfect for two people, a nanny, the grandparents or honeymooners. It has a queen-sized bed and a washer/dryer of its own.
Rentals are a 2-week minimum.
