Summary: We had a great stay at apartment Cindy. Communication with the owner was very good, he spoke good English. Check in was ok, we went to their offices first, paid the remaining balance, tourist tax and deposit. We had a bit of a wait while the lady sorted out her cleaners (I think?) but eventually we spoke to a girl who spoke English. We followed the English speaking owner to the apartment. The apartment is on the 3rd floor, so you'll get a bit of exercise while you're there! It was very clean and welcoming. The kitchen is quite small with a small glass hob (2 rings), a microwave, coffee maker and toaster. No oven or kettle, so if you want tea, bring your own! Only 4 knives and forks. Beds very comfy, great air conditioning, a little balcony. The location was really good, just 5 mins walk to the lake and all the night life, and 5 mins in the other direction to the town. It's a great apartment. A word of warning which is nothing to do with the owners, this is definitely a party area of Lake Balaton which we hadn't fully appreciated. The swimming pool is shared with 15 other apartments and you never know what neighbours you'll get. When we were there, there were a group of men staying in the other block who had a GIANT speaker and played Europop at a volume that made your ears bleed. I'm the sort of person who likes dancing next to the speakers in clubs so I like loud (decent) music, but not all day. Also the traditional folk song singing and clapping at 4 in the morning was a bit of cultural education we could have done without. Totally not the owners fault though, just the luck of the draw, but be aware you might share the space with party animals.
