This 1800 sq ft (167 m²) Eco Modern House is built on a beautiful half acre (2000 m²) lot surrounded by woods and wildlife one block from Lake Monona. Two nearby parks provide lake access and beautiful lake views. From the house, Esther Beach Park is 0.7 mi (1 km) away and Paunack Park is 0.5 mi (0.8 km) away.
The house has an open layout kitchen, living room and adjacent dining room. One bedroom and bathroom is located on the upper level. The two other bedrooms and the master bathroom are on the lower level which is partially below grade and has large 4 ft. (1.2 m) windows. The master bathroom features a “Tea for Two” 105 gallon soaking bathtub - big enough to accommodate two bathers or have a nice, deep, relaxing soak by yourself.
Many of the building materials for this house were sourced locally and contain environmentally friendlier options to make an energy efficient home. Heat and AC come from three mini splits on the upper level. The lower level has radiant heat. An energy recovery ventilation unit brings in fresh air.
Entering and exiting the house as well as moving between levels in the house requires going up and down stairs.
The beds are all on firm end of the spectrum.
The driveway is gravel and can get muddy when it rains. During the winter, the driveway is shoveled after a snow event.
