Visit Sequoia National Park - California's first national park and America's second oldest park. Visit the General Sherman Tree, the earth's largest living tree. Take a walk through Giant Forest and hike up Moro Rock. Take a tour of Crystal Cave (open May-September) and see almost 250 caves formed of limestone. Sierra House is conveniently located ONE mile from the park entrance.
Sierra House is located across the street from the Kaweah River. Relax and sit on the deck and listen to the sounds of the river and the water crashing against the rocks as if you were sitting right next to it. *Please note there is not river access in the vicinity of the house. You will have to travel 1/2 mile up near the Gateway Restaurant or head back down towards the lake to enjoy the water.
Drive up our mountain driveway that will bring you to our house. Here there is adequate parking for three vehicles.
Sierra House offers three bedrooms with one bedroom and bathroom on the main floor and two additional bedrooms and one bathroom on the lower floor. On the lower floor we also have an additional "game/family" room with extra large television.
** Owner has just finished converting downstairs into two separate bedrooms with new paint, flooring, and furnishings. Bunk bed area is adjacent from the bathroom. The queen bedroom is at the end of the bunk bed area. Everything turned out great for your next vacation.
BRAND new spa for guests to enjoy! Sit under the stars, relax after a long hike, enjoy the steam and jets of the hot tub that seats six people.
Property sleeps ten people comfortably.
*Upstairs bedroom (bedroom #1)- CA King bed overlooking the mountains above and river below.
*Downstairs bedroom (bedroom #2) - Queen size bed.
*Downstairs bedroom (bedroom #3) - two bunk bed's with twin/queen combination.
Kitchen has all appliances, microwave, four burner cooktop and oven, fridge and freezer to make those yummy meals! Bar seating fits 7 guests comfortably.
Living room, dining area, and kitchen are an open floor plan with numerous windows to look out at the mountains and spectacular view. There is plenty of room to gather as family and friends! Almost everything in this home has been updated within the last three years!
Washer and dryer available for guest use. Laundry room is next to the patio tables.
Step outside onto the deck and enjoy the views from all angles. Enjoy the patio area with BBQ and patio tables that seat 10 guests and outside propane fire table for those starry, smores nights! Sierra House also has horseshoe pits to "throw those shoes!" Also on the property there is an inground pool for families to enjoy. This pool is six feet deep. *Please note this is a liner pool and any misuse of the pool or tearing of the liner will result in damage charges.*
In the winter we can get snow (as you can see we recently did), however it is typically minimal and doesn't "stick" long. We are in the mountains, so there is the possibility for bears (which are more interested in the trash can than anything else), we often see deer, and other wildlife.
This home is approximately six miles from Lake Kaweah. From August through rain season, Lake Kaweah has minimum water pool. Lake levels rise when the rain and run off from snow pack comes. This means there is still water in the lake for boaters and swimmers, however not as much as a normal season provides.
Unless otherwise agreed upon with owner, normal check in time is 3:30pm on your arrival date, and check out time is 10:30am on the day of your departure.
Holiday weekends require a three night minimum stay.
Cell service is limited to AT&T in and around the property.

During COVID we will follow our regular cancellation policy since this has now been going on for some time. If you are not comfortable with the cancellation policy and fear you may become ill or not be able to travel, I do recommend you purchasing outside travel insurance which would cover refunding your stay in the event you need to cancel.
Well we have strived to make our home as comfortable as possible for you please do keep in mind that we are in a rustic, Mountain area. We experience hot, dry summers and from time to time also have critters small and large that are on, around and in the property. We do our very best to keep them outside however again you are in a mountain area where these critters lived long before we did. We are using their land and see it as a prime opportunity to know what exists, lives and flourishes here in the mountains.
We do offer a Wi-Fi (however sometimes we feel like pulling our hair out with it) we hope that you will understand again we are in the mountains and have the best service that is offered to us (which is very limited). If there is a period of downtime or the Wi-Fi may not be working to your expectations, we encourage you to take a step outside and enjoy nature. Let your mind relax and try again later!
