Travel Purpose: business
Positive: A nice cabin in a great location, in a walking distance from Shadow Mountain Lake and the Rocky Mountains NP. The town of Grand Lake is ~10 minute drive away. We loved the porch, the quiet private setting, and the Grand Lake area in general.
Negative: The cabin was not prepared for our arrival, with all beds unmade, dirty dishes, some things thrown on the ground etc. The kids freaked out that someone broke in and might still be in the cabin. We got hold of someone after a while, got access to the linen closet, made the beds for ourselves, and got the cabin ready the cleaning company did deep cleaning the next day. This was unpleasant, but mistakes happen, so one can understand that. The owner owned the mistake and promised to refund us some amount of money, mostly for the cleaning (since we ended up doing a good portion of that ourselves). But the refund never arrived. Apparently they told Evolve, Evolve sent the money, but the credit never showed up on our credit cards. We were told to go and figure it out with Evolve (with whom we have no commercial relationship) or Booking.com, without any additional information about how the purported refund was made. At this point, I do not think we will ever see the promised refund.
