Meticulous designer-renovated A-Frame, overlooking the Payette River, and surrounded by towering Tamarack trees, in arguably the best location in all of McCall, Idaho. Whether you're looking to spend time on Payette Lake (5 minute walk), Rotary Park, hiking/biking, the Shore Lodge (8 minute walk), restaurants (8 minute walk), or venture downtown (15 minute walk) this is the place to stay. If you are a skier, you can walk to the Brundage bus shuttle in the winter - the west side of town is best to access Brundage Ski Mountain or Warren Wagon activities!
Fully renovated in 2024, the use of space is absolutely perfect – whether you are grillin' and chillin' on the oversized deck, with table/chairs for 8 people, or having a picnic on the generous grassy yard listening to the Aspens, you can't beat it. Known as the “walking street” this neighborhood is a quiet established area, only interrupted by the sounds of the river and nature right outside your front door (you will see plenty of deer). With heavy forest on 2 sides, and conveniently located near EVERYTHING, The River Cabin A-Frame has so much to offer. You'll never want to leave!
The gorgeous kitchen has brand new designer appliances, cabinets, counter tops, and everything else you need to cook a fabulous meal or just make a perfect cup of coffee or tea in the morning. Outfitted with all the amenities and cookware, the island sits 2 comfortably in addition to the 4 ft circular dining table nearby. During the summer the outdoor furniture is used a lot and seats up to 8 people. With windows on all sides of this classic A-frame, the designers wanted to keep some of the original features, such as the stunning stone fireplace with floating stairs. While not a mansion in the woods, this cozy 2 bedroom accommodates a family of 5 very easily – from dining options, to the couch and leather chairs in the living room where you can enjoy the 65” smart TV. Just beyond the deck is a newly built exterior firepit and seating for nature watching and stargazing, and with the perfect view through the trees of the river of course!
This cabin has all the elements needed for a peaceful retreat surrounded by nature without skimping on any of the modern amenities we all love, including fast Wi-Fi, a 65” TV to stream all your favorite movies or shows, and 3 mini-split heat and A/C units (along with wall heating cadets and heat fans in the bathrooms!).
No detail was missed in this custom-built, luxury A Frame. The decorations and art was curated over the years from vintage shops in Montana, Wyoming and Idaho, which gives this cabin the perfect blend of being both modern and rustic.
Upstairs, you will find the master bedroom with a luxuriously-sized king bed, vaulted ceilings, and the best views of the river to the west. The spacious loft bedroom (no door on loft) has a twin over full bunk bed plus a stand-alone full bed, vaulted ceilings, and the best views of the surrounding trees - imagine seeing nothing but trees when you open your eyes. Perfect for kids or friends that each want their own place to sleep, this room feels bigger than what it is due to the vaulted ceilings. The loft features plenty of storage and blackout blinds (for those summer months).
There are two full bathrooms, both with walk-in showers. One is upstairs and accessed from the hall, and the other is on the main floor.
Walk across the street from Alpine Pantry to Lake Payette's Rotary Park with public swimming access and a playground. Albertson's grocery store is a pleasant 15-minute walk through the neighborhood and a 20-minute walk to downtown. With The River Cabin A-Frame being so centrally located, no matter what you choose to do during your stay, getting around is simple and usually just a short time spent in transit which leaves you with more time to spend relaxing and enjoying all this home has to offer.

During the winter you must drive a snow capable vehicle, preferably a vehicle that is 4WD or AWD, and plan your trip accordingly knowing this is a ski town and we can get 1-2 ft of snow within a 24 hour period. A driver who has experience driving in the snow is great as well.

This is a true A-Frame home with angled walls. This makes the rooms a bit smaller and the areas between the beds and walls narrow.
There is no microwave at this home but it does have a convection oven.
To lock the sliding door to the deck please pull up on the handle and turn the knob to lock.
The stove is an induction stove with special cookware. You will hear a clicking noise when the pan is heated up.
Tools for the BBQ are under the BBQ.
In the bunkroom the blinds are electronic, they are controlled by a switch on the wall by the entrance to the room.
This home has a two night minimum stay, but some date ranges require a 3 or 4 night stay.
