This newly renovated cottage is situated in the heart of the village area of Orr s Island. Walk to the nearby Salt Cod Cafe right beside the Cribstone Bridge for a delicious scone and cup of coffee or walk next door to H20utfitters and join one of their kayak tours. Though not on the water, there are many nearby beaches and kayak/boat launches. With nearby cafes, restaurants, candy shops, art galleries and gift shops, Compass Rose is the perfect location for just a short drive or nice long walk to all these local amenities.
As you walk into this sweet cottage you will enter into the living and dining area with sliders to the right which lead to the side deck (complete with patio furniture and gas grill). Inside the living area there is also a full-size futon that can double as extra sleeping space. Continuing on into the kitchen it has been completely renovated with gorgeous cabinets and counter tops, as well as brand new stainless steel appliances. The first-floor bedroom is off of the kitchen and has a great little balcony to enjoy a good book or the evening breeze on a hot day. The brand new spacious bathroom has an over sized tile shower which completes the first floor and is right off of the kitchen. The stairs to the second floor are located on the north side of the cottage where you will find a freshly painted bedroom with a queen bed as well as a half bathroom. This home also has a new gas propane heater for those chilly evenings.

Summary: This was a great place to book that was homey and comfortable to stay and hang out, as well as an excellent location to get to other places. Beaches are minutes away, as is the Bailey Island General Store for sundries. And of course the gem of Salt Cod Cafe essentially just 1 block away was very nice. We loved the yard for playing and the neighborhood for walking. The cool breeze in the windows was so welcome. And even with it being on the main road, traffic was not noisy or bothersome at all. The location is also close enough for the outings we took to Brunswick, Freeport, and Portland. Add to that, clear communication and information provided, it was a great experience.
