A private, peaceful getaway nestled in the Southern Berkshires. Our fully renovated country home has a small orchard, and is surrounded by farmland, hundreds of acres of nature preserves and sweeping views of the Taconic and Berkshire Mountains. We're a 2.5 hour drive from NYC.
Our home was completely renovated in 2015 and features a terrific big screened-in porch (that is converted to glass windows during colder seasons) with dining and lounging areas, and a large deck with a grill and great views. The fully stocked kitchen has granite countertops, dining table for 4-6 and a counter seating area. And the open and light-filled great room gets morning and afternoon light and has a working fireplace, large flat screen TV and sliding glass doors leading to the porch and deck. There are 3 bedrooms upstairs that sleep a total of 7, including a full bath in the hallway and a big master suite with a working fireplace, high ceiling with fan, a walk-in closet and large windows with gorgeous views overlooking the orchard and Taconic mountains in the distance.
The house is situated in a beautiful spot with country lanes, hiking trails, canoeing, kayaking and swimming lakes all close by. Skiing is 20 min. away at Catamount and Butternut.
The nearby village of Sheffield has great antiquing, a number of restaurants, a craft brewery and distillery. And we're close to all the great cultural attractions of the Berkshires, great food and shopping in Great Barrington, Litchfield County, CT and Columbia and Dutchess Counties in NY.
