Waterfront condo. A relaxing getaway. Ocean views. Beautiful sunsets. Welcome to your "home away from home" on Vancouver Island near Parksville and Nanaimo. Sleeps 6 people (2 king beds + 1 queen sofa bed).
*Note: Pacific Shores is located within the rural electoral area of Nanoose Bay and will not be affected by the new provincial short term rental legislation on May 1st, 2024.*
An ideal vacation for families, couples and friends, this 1175 sq foot condo has a kitchen, 2 king beds, 2 bathrooms, washer/dryer, 3 Samsung Tizen TVs, and a pull-out sofa bed in the main living room (queen size).
The condo consists of two separate units connected by adjoining door that can be opened for visiting or locked for privacy. Enjoy morning coffee on the patios with the ocean at your doorstep.
Guests have access to resort amenities including an indoor pool with hot tub, exercise facility, outdoor hot tub, playground, pickle ball courts, basketball net and more! Paddle boards, kayaks, and bikes are also available seasonally to borrow through the resort front desk. **No pets unfortunately.**

This beautiful 1175 square foot condo combines two units.
The two separate units are connected by an inside adjoining (lock off) door which provides the perfect option for both visiting and privacy.
UNIT A features...
* Sleeps up to 4 people
* Master bedroom with a king-sized bed that has soft microfibre sheets with 1500 thread count and an organic cotton, hypoallergenic mattress protector
* 5-piece bathroom includes a deep soaker tub, two sinks, separate stand-up shower, and toilet. Access as an ensuite from the bedroom or directly from the hallway.
* Pull-out sofa in the living room sleeps up to 2 people (queen mattress size)
* Well-stocked kitchen with stainless steel appliances includes a stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, double coffee pot, kettle, toaster, blender and hand mixer
* In-suite laundry with washer/dryer
* Large dining table - ideal for visiting, sharing meals, playing board games, etc!
* Outdoor covered balcony with beautiful views of the water. Features a 4-person table to enjoy your morning coffee and your meals while enjoying the afternoon sun or watching the sunset.
* 1 gas fireplace in the living room
* 2 Samsung TVs - 1 in the master bedroom and 1 in the living room for you to sign into your Netflix, Disney+ account, etc. (no cable TV)
* Wi-fi access
* Built-in counter in master bedroom can be used as a vanity table or as a desk. Bring your laptop to catch up on a few emails or sit in on a Zoom call as you "work from anywhere."
* NOTE: There is no air conditioning in the condo, although we have three fans in the unit, a ceiling fan in the living room, and there is often a cross breeze off the ocean.

* "Hotel-style," open concept suite sleeps up to 2 people.
* 1 king-sized bed with soft microfibre sheets with 1500 thread count and an organic cotton, hypoallergenic mattress protector
* Small sofa to sit on
* Small kitchenette ("Continental Breakfast-style") with a microwave, small bar fridge, kettle, and a Keurig coffee pot. There is no stove, cook plate or sink.
* Washroom includes a sink, toilet, shower/soaker tub
* Cozy, small covered outdoor balcony with a “peek-a-boo” view to enjoy your morning coffee, read a book, etc.
* 1 electric fireplace
* 1 Samsung Tizen 50" TV

* Fan available for use but no air conditioning
ENJOY ALL OF THE RESORT AMENITIES
For real?! Yes! Our condo is our privately owned unit, but it is also situated at the Pacific Shores Resort & Spa so you will have access to everything the resort has to offer during your stay. This includes an indoor pool, indoor hot tub, fitness centre, pool table, ping pong, outdoor rock hot tub, children's playground, children’s outdoor splash pool (seasonal), outdoor gas fire pits, shared BBQs, basketball net and (ten!) pickleball courts. Paddle boards, kayaks and bicycles are available for use from the resort front desk (seasonally). Subject to resort policies and availability.
As of March 2024, the indoor pool and hot tub hours are Tuesday to Sunday (closed Mondays) from 9:30 am - 12:30 pm and 2:30 - 10 pm (closed for cleaning daily from 12:30 - 2:30 pm).
The outdoor hot tub is open every day, but it is closed on Thursdays until 5 pm for cleaning. Subject to change.
ACCESSIBILITY
The condo features ground level, no-step access. Walk right into the condo without ever having to climb stairs or wait for the elevator! Ideal for mobility challenges and wheelchair friendly. However, even though the condo has ground level entry, it is actually situated on the second level of the condo building, meaning you can enjoy the comfortable, covered balcony and its great views of the ever-changing tide waters.
LOCATION
This condo is situated in central Vancouver Island -- a location that simply can't be beat for exploring everything this beautiful island has to offer.
- 5 minute drive to idyllic Rathtrevor Beach filled with sand dollars and kilometre-long low tides (or walk to Rathtrevor from the condo at low tide!)
- 5 minute drive to Quality Foods to stock up on groceries
- 10 minutes to the Parksville and Qualicum area
- 15 minutes to Coombs (home of "Goats on a Roof," local shopping, Farmer's Markets and more)
- 15 minutes to Nanaimo filled with amenities, restaurants, and shops (e.g Costco, Superstore, Walmart, Home Depot)
- 30 minutes to the Nanaimo ferry (Departure Bay to Horseshoe Bay)
- 40 minutes to the Nanaimo Airport, 1 hour to the Comox Valley Airport, and 2.5 hours to the Victoria International Airport or Swartz Bay Ferry Terminal
- 25 minutes to Cathedral Grove, home of stunning old growth forests
- 2 hours and 45 minutes to Tofino, home of world class surfing, trails, and camping
- Approx. 2 hours to Victoria, home of city sightseeing, Butchart Gardens and the beautiful Legislature downtown
- 1 hour driving distance to Mount Washington with downhill and cross country skiing, sledding, and year-round hiking and biking
- 5-10 minute drive to grocery stores and other amenities to stock up on whatever you need to make your stay comfortable and memorable.
OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES
Walking and running trails next to the ocean are right outside of the condo. Explore tidal pools or get closer to nature by hopping on a paddle board or setting sail in a kayak (available seasonally for guest use through the resort front desk). Hiking trails and outdoor adventures are only a short drive away.
DIVING
Did you know.....Nanoose Bay (just north of Nanaimo) is considered one of the best diving sites on Vancouver Island?! Divers can see wolf eels, Puget Sound King crabs, brittle and feather stars, boot sponges, nudibranchs and swimming scallops (Source: Times Colonist newspaper).

Summary: Perfect family vacation rental, we loved the two conjoined condos. All the Anne ties we needed. They even had a playpen for little ones which was not on the listing. Perfect balcony to watch the sun set. Location was great from short trip into Parksville and Nanaimo both with great waterfront community parks and playgrounds. Host was great to check in to ensure we got welcome email and was available if needed. Highly recommend
