**NOTE: Each year, on September 18th OR the 3rd Sunday in September (whichever is later),the Army Corps of Engineers begins dropping the water level of Lake Pend Oreille until ultimately reducing it by a total of 10-12 feet. By the 4th week in October MOST boat docks and boat lifts on the lake become inaccessible and unusable, as the water completely recedes back from the shoreline leaving just bare ground beneath the docks. However, Bayview Marina and other lake marina’s have deep water slips available for short or long-term lease during the lower water months.The agreement with the Army Corps of Engineers states the lake level must be restored to full pool level each year no later than July 4th, however, the last 10+ years the lake water has been at full pool level around the 2nd or 3rd week in June.Below is asample2020 schedule from the Corps that shows the approximate drop rate starting the 3rdSunday in September:
