The Neighborhood:
The exclusive Timberline Meadows development, located in the Upper Methow Valley, is home to a small group of nightly rentals, along with a couple private homes. The neighborhood is nestled in the trees at the edge of the National Forest and also surrounds the upper part of the ‘Johns Way’ trail. In the wintertime, cross country ski, snowshoe and fat bike trails connect Timberline Meadows to Mazama and the Upper Methow trail system (permits required in winter), making this a great ski-in / ski-out location, away from the bustle of the Mazama trailhead but close enough to ski down to the store. The Mazama Store, with its great bakery and ‘a little bit of everything good’ is just a 5 minute drive or 10 minute bike ride from the cabin, and around 20 minutes by ski (depending how fast you slide and glide). Mountain bike and ski rentals are also available in Mazama.
Early Winters Outfitters which features horseback riding is just the other side of Timberline Lane as you turn off Highway 20. Other local attractions include the Loup Loup Ski Bowl, Winthrop Rink (named one of the 10 best ice rinks in the West by Sunset Magazine and one of the only NHL-sized refrigerated rinks in the country – open for Pickleball and inline skating in the summer). North Cascades National Park is just west on Highway 20, part of the Cascade Loop. And of course, the Methow Valley is home to the largest cross-country ski trail network in North America with great skiing and abundant sunshine!
Getting Around:
Getting here: May to November, from Seattle and the westside, you can drive over highway 20 and Washington Pass (check WSDOT for closures). Alternate, and winter routes from Seattle are via I90, Snoqualmie Pass and Blewett Pass, or highway 2 over Stevens Pass (check WSDOT for driving conditions). Combine these routes and you have the scenic Cascade Loop.
Getting around: It’s a 20 minute drive to the Cutthroat Lake trailhead, 21 minutes to Washington Pass and 27 minutes to Maple Pass trailhead, making this a great hiking base-camp for exploring the North Cascades and for beating the crowds to the trailhead during larch season.
The old west town of Winthrop is 12 1/2 miles and around 15 minutes drive down valley, with its great shopping, bakery and dining establishments; the Shafer Museum is also worth a visit to learn about the local history. Winthrop has a fun ice skating rink and is the jumping off point for Methow Rafting’s raft and float tubing on the Methow River. Winthrop’s annual calendar of events includes the Rhythm and Blues Festival, Vintage Car Rally, Memorial Day Rodeo, and Christmas At The End Of The Road (check the town’s website for details).
Other Things to Note:
New Construction: Pinehaven is a high-end new build nightly rental property completed in July 2024. As is somewhat inevitable with a high-spec project in a rural area there are few amenities still to be completed including the paved driveway, patio, and closet and pantry shelves.
Occupancy: Pinehaven sleeps 8 with the following bedroom and bed arrangements:
- Two king master bedroom suites
- Additional third bedroom with king bed
- Twin-sized bunk bed in the office sleeps an additional 2 guests
Minimum stay is 3 nights.
No pets: Pets are not permitted at Pinehaven. This however is not a guarantee that pets have not been present. If you are allergic to pets DO NOT RENT this listing.
Pricing: Please note that the nightly rate varies with seasons and weekdays, please enter your proposed dates for a current quote.
Hot-tub and Sauna:
- Please be aware that saunas are inherently hot and may pose a risk if not used properly. Guests should use caution when using the sauna.
- The hot tub is available for a $200 fee per stay for guests staying 4 nights, with the fee waived for stays of 5+ days. This fee covers compliance with local county regulations, which also make hot-tub access for shorter stays impractical.
Garage: Includes indoor parking access for 2 cars, with usage of a Porsche [Type 2] EV charger (Only for staying guests).
Storage: Closets and pantry are guest accessible.
Special terms and conditions:
For reservations made through most platforms, a credit card authorization hold of $500 is required. This hold is placed before check-in and released 48 hours after check-out. The hold may be charged partially or in full for the following reasons:
Extra cleaning.
Extra unauthorized guests.
Unauthorized pets.
Damages not covered by damage insurance (any excess must also be paid by the renter).
Any other abuse of rental policies.
Your booking confirmation will indicate whether this hold is required. Reservations made through platforms with their own specific terms and policies will have issues resolved according to those procedures.
SECURITY CAMERAS
We would like to make you aware that there are four perimeter cameras for Pinehaven. They are located in the east entry facing the front door, the north main door facing the driveway, the south patio, facing the forest, and off the west deck. These areas (and all doors) are monitored to ensure the property remains secure. There are no cameras inside the Main living level.
