Poggiolo dei Serviti is located on a hilly position, among beautiful cypress trees and Chianti vineyards right at the border between Tuscany and Umbria. Lovely and classy house dating back to the end of the XVII century, where an order of friars used to live, the property has kept its original stone façade. Original pieces have been kept also for the interiors, like the wooden beams who have only been painted in white, and the precious cotto, particular tiles and parquet as paving. The large living room, the dining area and the kitchen have been furnished with great taste: brick and stone arches add even more character to the property, which is very well lit up by the numerous windows with view on the garden. For those who love being immersed in nature, within the property there are several paddocks with animals living in peaceful harmony with nature such as donkeys and various types of birds. The large vegetable garden, at disposal of the guests, lets people appreciate the natural and unpolluted rural landscape even more. Poggiolo dei Serviti is a very welcoming place where it is possible to breathe a homey atmosphere. The bedrooms, very particular and coloured, are all provided with air conditioning. Not far from the Autostrada del Sole (with exit in Fabro - 12 km), the house is located in a position from where it will be possible to easily reach and visit the beautiful towns of Val di Chiana, such as Montepulciano, Cetona and Chianciano Terme, together with the astonishing Val d’Orcia area and its towns like Montalcino, Pienza, San Quirico, Castiglione, Bagno Vignoni and those of the neighbouring Umbria region as well. NB Every morning and evening a person in charge of the animals will be on-site to feed them, and if you wish, on request, he/she will bring you fresh eggs from the chicken coop or fresh vegetables from the vegetable garden.
Interior:
INTERIOR ARRANGEMENT The house develops on two floors, connected both from inside and also externally by steps. On the ground floor, from the main entrance, there is the living room area, three fireplaces, sofas, satellite TV, and a big dining room. From this floor, it is possible to access the kitchen which is divided into two environments from both of which it is possible to access the two external equipped pergolas where people can cook and eat outside. On this floor, there is also a service bathroom. In the middle of the living room, there is a stairway which leads to the upper floor which consists of a studio, with exit on a small balcony with an external staircase, two double bedrooms with en-suite bathroom with shower, one double bedroom with en-suite bathroom with tub and two more bedrooms with joinable beds and en-suite bathrooms with shower. All the bedrooms are provided with air conditioning.
Park:
About 8000 sqm of garden surround the property. Flat ground very well kept, enriched with lots of Mediterranean essences and coloured flowers. The large vegetable garden is at complete disposal of the guests, who can take walks and contemplate the beautiful panorama among aromatic herbs and seasonal vegetables. all around the property, there are a few equipped areas where it is possible to sit and relax: the first one is a bamboo shaded pergola next to the kitchen and living room, furnished with table, chairs and sofas; the second pergola also not far from the kitchen, is furnished with table, chairs, a wood oven and a stone-built barbecue. Both pergolas are perfect for al fresco dinners. The property is provided with an outdoor parking space for 3 cars, just a few meters from the building.
Please notice that photos are taken in spring, therefore flower blossoming, and the colours of the gardens' grass could be different at the moment of your arrival at the villa.
Swimming Pool:
The beautiful private pool is set in a panoramic location next to the property, at just 20 m from it and which is reachable by making a few steps. it measures 12 x 6 m and it has a depth that varies from 1.20 to 1.80 m. The pool has a chlorine purification system and its access is through roman stairs. it is provided with both internal and external lighting system, and it is paved with cotto tiles. The solarium has also a cold water shower, sunbeams, sun umbrella and a romantic little pergola with chairs and table. The pool is open from the last Saturday of April until the first Saturday of October.
