2 Bedroom Cabin in Rockbridge
Relax with family and friends in this cozy and quiet cabin in the woods. Our cabin has been in our family since 1969. We have recently renovated the entire cabin. We offer a colorful, quirky, boho vibe. You can enjoy listening to our vinyl record collection from the 60's, 70's and a little bit of the 80's. Enjoy the hot tub year round too. We also have an outdoor campfire space with lots of seating. We provide firewood too! Guests can feed the deer with grain provided by the host and watch from the decks as they come in to feed. We also provide nuts for squirrels and we keep our bird feeders full to feed the many varieties of birds in the hills. Don’t forget your fishing pole and enjoy fishing from the dock on the private pond. We ask our guests to practice catch and release. In the cabin you will find 2 private bedrooms, one with Queen size bed and one with Full size bed. Two futons are also in the cabin. The upper level living space is a great room with a full kitchen. We have two 50" Samsung smart Tv's that are already programmed with Prime, Netflix and Hulu or you log into your own accounts. We have everything you need to cook, grill or griddle. From the windows you see the woods around you while relaxing or while cooking in the new kitchen with a dishwasher. From the spiral staircase you can go down to the lower level and access the family room and 2nd bedroom. You can also access this space from the outdoor staircase and patio doors. The upper level has the main bedroom with Queen bed and 50" smart tv, it is connected to a full bathroom with bathtub/shower. A patio door from the living space leads to a quiet upper deck that overlooks the property and pond. From the decks you can watch the many birds come into feed and watch when the deer come to feed. The main door takes you out to the upper deck, a dining table and the fire pit area and steps to the lower deck and hot tub. We have plenty of parking in front of the cabin in our driveway. You'll keep cool with central air conditioning or keep warm with the whole house furnace. We just installed a new whole house stand by generator for power outages that happen in the hills. We cannot control an event of internet outage. No refunds will be given for an internet outage.
Other things to note: Depending on weather conditions, guests may need all-wheel or 4-wheel drive to get up the hill to the cabin. You’ll need to get a running start up the hill and keep up your momentum. There is also a place to park at the bottom of hill if necessary.
We have installed a whole house water filtration system. We change our filters often but our well water can still sometimes have a bit of a sulphur smell.
Note: For our peace of mind and our guests safety we have a ring camera over driveway and a ring doorbell at our entry door. They both stay active 24/7. We only review them if there has been a problem for our guests.
