Summary: We had a lovely stay at Pottery Gate with our two dogs. The house was extremely clean and really lived up to the photos. The location is brilliant and easy driving distance from fabulous walks as well as walking distance from all the amenities you could need. It’s important to note that although you get a permit for one car, a space isn’t guaranteed so we did have to do a bit of walking from our car parking space to get to the house which was a bit awkward with two dogs and bags on arrival and we had to make several trips from the car and back. Finding the house was easy, although I did have some difficulty opening the gate and both the front door and back door of the property without some help as the gate needs a good shove and the door handles are very stiff so would advise some improvements here. The kitchen was very well equipped for cooking and the place felt very comfortable and cosy, I would have liked some more fire logs however as we could only find one. The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable and we slept very well! The dogs also had a great time and it was great that we could easily shower them down in the courtyard area after muddy walks before going in the house. We luckily brought our own hose attachment which came in handy as the hose pipe provided had several holes in it so didn’t work – something that would be great to replace for future guests. Overall, this is a brilliant holiday cottage in a fantastic location and despite a few minor issues, I would recommend to others.
