Normal Heights is a wonderful, walkable, vibrant, lively and Historical charming neighborhood in mid city San Diego. Its central location makes it in 'high demand' with travelers to our beautiful city. The charm of older homes (like ours..circa 192) that have been remodeled and renovated throughout the neighborhood paired with the countless gastropubs, sportsbars, restaurants, cafes and night life make our neighborhood a 'desination' not to be missed.
Close proximity to the 8 Freeway, 15 Freeway, 805 Freeway & 163 Freeway.
Trolley Station located at the SDCCU Football Stadium in Mission Valley.
Public bus routes (SDMTS) are best to access on Adams Ave.
ATTENTION: This home has a studio at the rear of the lot. To ensure privacy both yards are separated by a fence and the studio's parking and entrance is in the alleyway at the rear of Casa Monroe. Quiet time outside is 8pm to 8am as it is close proximity the studio in addition to the neighbors.

A: You may park in the driveway at no additional cost! There is also street parking available with no restricted time frames.
Q: How do the wall heaters work?
A: Rotate knob switch clockwise to turn on & counter clockwise to turn off.
Q: Is there a grocery store/pharmacy nearby?
A: There is a Vons grocery store within walking distance just on Adams Ave. Only 0.5 miles away. There is also a Rite-Aid pharmacy across the street from Vons.
Q: Where can I catch the Trolley into downtown?
A: The Trolley station is located about 4 miles north in Mission Valley. There is also public buses on Adams Ave just 2 block north or El Cajon Blvd 3 blocks south of the house.
Q: How have you prepared the house for COVID 19?
A: The owners are following strict sanitizing and cleaning guidelines after each guest checkout. Cleaners containing bleach, ammonia are being used consitently. In addition, Lysol spraying is done extensively along with airing the house in between guest.
Q: Can more people people stay in an unexpected emergency?

DAMAGE & ASSOCIATED COSTS
Although we as hosts and homeowners of Casa Monroe understand the occasional ‘accident’ in a rental property such as a broken wine glass, we take pride and very careful purchasing /selections of items in the house to ensure an enjoyable stay at Casa Monroe. We would like our guests to be aware that there will be a charge to a guest after check out for the following items if they are destroyed, damaged, stained or missing etc.
Please be aware that the house is carefully inventoried after check out and before the next guest arrives. It is very carefully inspected for damage to the house and its contents, checked for permanent stains on the linens and it is especially checked for missing items. We do take photos of the rooms and also take inventory of all of the items in the kitchen, living room and bedrooms.

This wonderful Spanish bungalow was originally built in 1926. In 1958 the old ‘carriage’ garage was knocked down and a large 2 car garage was built at the rear of the house by the family who owned it through 3 generations before we purchased it in 2019. The house was remodeled from the entire
electrical and plumbing system up in the fall of 2019 and modernized with a newly re-located new kitchen, added second restroom and ‘in home’ laundry room! In Fall of 2021 we converted the 2 car garage into a wonderful studio (ADU) aka: ‘Casita Adams’ to accommodate a traveler/couple in need of extended stays from 15-28 days at a time.

ARRIVING:
When you drive up you will see double doors at the front deck and an orange color front door. You will enter at the orange front door where you will see a brown keypad that requires a code to enter. On the keypad enter your temporary code [****] to unlock the door (You may press the “Schlage” button first to bring light to the keypad if it is dark). You can hit the same button to lock behind you. This code will be provided right before check in.
BASICS:
Once you are inside, relax and make yourself at home! We know you traveled a long way to get here, so your first bathroom is the second door on the right down the hallway. A second bathroom is through the bedroom straight ahead at the end of the hall. When entering the home you will be inside the living room with an open floorplan including the kitchen.
SMART HOME:
We have provided for our guests smart Toshiba FIRE HD TVs. One in the living room and one in the firs tbedroom to the left down the hall.
