A higher dwelling vacation rental, located in the heart of Spanish Peaks Country at the foothills of Sangre de Cristo Mountain Range, our humble cozy abode has two bedrooms each with a comfortable queen bed. The living room has a wood burning fireplace, a futon sofa bed & two separate recliner sectionals. There are two queen size air mattresses located inside the gold chest in the Blue Room. Limit 10 guests please.

We encourage minimal waste with sustainable options like eco-friendly LED lighting and the recycling of paper products to be used for fireplace kindling. Plastic containers are refilled, like for dish soap, laundry detergent, olive oil etc. So please do not dispose of the bottles, if empty. We reuse as much as possible. Careful cleaning practices are enhanced, as natural environmental-friendly products with fresh scents are the preferred choice.
Situated only steps away from the actual Stonewall, a resort village to hike, fish or hunt all year round, in the heart of territory long claimed by the Trinchera elk herd. Visit nearby Bosque del Oso State Wildlife Area, the Great Dikes, Monument Lake and North Lake.
Be prepared to experience a restoring of your soul, wonderful winding trails surrounded with recreational activities, majestic views and sightings of wildlife. The Great Sand Dunes National Park is a 1 hour and 45 minutes beautiful drive away. The San Isabel National Forest along with the Cuchara Mountain Park is only a half hour drive away.
Additional amenities at the cabin include a dual Ninja Air Fryer, Waffle Maker, Rice Cooker, Slow Cooker Crockpot and Coffee Bean Grinder. There’s a general grocery, café and liquor store only a stroll away, seasonal hours though. Recommend shopping for groceries in Trinidad or stopping at Ringo’s Market prior to arriving at the cabin.
The kitchen is fully equipped. There are also convenient meal and snack items to purchase in our pantry. We accept cash or e-pay. Thank you for supporting our small family business!
You may notice minor imperfections in our cozy cabin. We constantly have ongoing projects, time permitting, to improve and enhance it to become even more Functional * Purposeful * and Beautiful*
Parking is available directly in front of cabin. There is no public transportation here.
Biking and walking are other ways to get around this tiny town. Driving is the preferred way to get around though to see the surrounding beauty of Spanish Peaks Country.

Please, if you drop something, pick it up, if you dirty a dish, clean it, and if anything breaks, inform your host. Please respect the cabin space. As a general rule, care is primary. As a
common courtesy, you are expected to clean up after yourself.
Guests have access to all cabin space inside and the land property outside. There is a locked room inside designated for personal and office use only.
There is a “Two Pet Limit” for the $25 Pet Fee. You may bring more pets for an additional cleaning fee of $25 each.
A dumpster is located on the south side of cabin to dispose garbage bags. The key is located next to the main entrance. Please keep dumpster locked to Bear Proof and return the key to designated spot.
Caution of Bears - Please do not leave any food or garbage outside or in your vehicle. Keep your vehicle windows closed and locked during the evening.
For Safety Reasons, Please No Fires Are Allowed Outside

There is a wood burning fireplace. Firewood is available for purchase at the cabin. Follow Payment instructions while there, we accept cash, e-pay, or receive “Request For Payment” and pay later.
During cold periods, to prevent pipes from freezing, Please keep ceiling fan on in the kitchen to circulate warm air. We kindly ask that you keep kitchen heater on at 60-65 temperature.
On the day of Check Out, please leave beds unmade, any used items on the ground such as blankets, comforters, towels, basically anything that will require washing. Do not fold up used items. I must know what needs washing.
Closest Gas Station:
The Picket Wire is less than 5 minutes away, it has a little shop and a gas pump - Seasonal Hours of Operation, closed during winter.
Ringo’s Market has pumps and is located about 25 minutes away in a city called Segundo (you will pass it if you're driving in from Trinidad).
At your request: If you forget something after departure, I will happily send any item(s) back. You will receive a Request For Payment notification through the Airbnb app to include shipping, labor, materials and gas.
DIRECTIONS TO CABIN:
Driving in from Trinidad, take Highway 12 West. Drive towards the city of Weston. The cabin is located between Mile Markers 37 and 38. After you pass Mile Marker 37, you will Turn Right onto a dirt road shortly after The Stonewall Lodge. The dirt road is also next to a cabin with Deep Blue Trim.
After taking a Right onto the dirt road, our cabin will be the 6th cabin on your left. It is next to a yellow apartment called The Stonewall View.
