Positive: We like the traditional Japanese house. The place is near the market & there is a local shop that sells homemade fish cakes, so oishii. It's a 12-15 mins walk to the station & it took 8 mins train ride to Kansai Airport. The house has 2 washers & a drying rack, and the laundry area is also used as a smoking area. The kitchen is small but functional & has cooking necessities. Bring/buy cooking spices with you if you plan to cook. There is a pharmacy 5 mins walk away where you can buy groceries & seasonings. Upstairs has 2 bedroom and they provided 5 futons for us. There is an extra bed, but we didn't use it. The stairs were decorated with (i think) kimono fabric, very cute. There is a scale underneath the sink near the dining table. We are happy with our stay. The host is gracious enough to leave a surprise welcome gift.
Negative: I'm surprised there is no tub, but it's OK, considered the size of the house. One of the AC units doesn't work, but since the weather was nice & not hot. We left the door between the bedroom open so we can share the AC. Towels need to be washed more, smelled musty.
Summary: Nice stay.
