The space
Your health and wellbeing are our top priority. The Running Bear Retreat is disinfected, sanitized, and cleaned to the highest standard after each checkout.
When you walk into the space you will immediately notice the mountain views from the living room windows. The rough cut wood ceilings, dining room table and other features were cut and sawed directly from trees on the property. Hardwood floors, custom gourmet kitchen and thoughtful interior design throughout.
All the modern amenities you could dream up. Including a Nespresso machine and french press, fully appointed kitchen with CB2 plate and glassware. Sit back and watch some movies on the 65 inch smart TV and enjoy the fast wifi speeds. Feel restful after a good night’s sleep on tempurpedic/memory foam mattresses with organic cotton linens sheets in every bedroom. Two queen bedrooms, one twin bedroom which can double as an office with a daybed, two full bathrooms, open living space, gourmet kitchen, dining, living space, wood burning stove, hot tub, and outdoor fire pit. There are two decks, the lower with a 6 person hot tub.
You will have the entire 20 acres to yourself, which also includes 2 level camping areas which are vehicle accessible but also hidden from the chalet itself. Old forester paths that were cut 80 years ago remain around the entire property, providing access for a walk through the woods where you may come across natural springs, streams, old boulders and many signs of birds and wildlife. Help us prevent wildfires by collecting your own firewood off the forest floor and enjoy an evening by the bonfire under the stars.
From the open concept living/dining area, watch your favorite movies on a wall mounted swivel 65” Smart LED TV or listen to your tunes on the Samsung Wireless sound system. The TV is also integrated with the sound system, Spectrum TV, including Netflix, HBO, Hulu and Amazon prime. Monopoly and backgammon are located in the den by the wood burning stove. The entire home is all yours to use and enjoy. We simply ask you to treat our house with respect and leave it the way you found it. Give it respect and love. Thank you.

GUEST ACCESS:
All parts of the house in the space is yours to enjoy. There is a storage barn on the property that is not for guest access. There is also a sawmill and some stacked lumber in two of the carport spots that are not for guest use.
HIKING:
5 minute drive to hundreds of miles of trails through the Salish Mountains or the Kootenai National Forest. Walk the Pacific NW trail along the edge of Lake Koocanusa or the Rails to Trails hike along the old railroad into the town of Eureka. Visit the Pinkham Falls or take the gravel roads which lead all the way down to Flathead County.
You can enjoy lake views by visiting the Abayance Bay Marina Park, which is a 20 minute drive down Pinkham. If you would like to go boating you can use the public boat launch there or rent boats, jet skis, kayaks and stand-up paddle boards directly from the Marina.
Rexford Beach & Picnic Area is also offers public lake access and is close by. One of many great places for swimming or fishing, meet locals and vacationers alike at this state park beach.
SECURITY CAMERAS:
We have 24/7 video/audio security cameras on the exterior of property only. There is one located towards the entrance gate, another on the front of the house facing north towards the driveway and another southeast towards the carport. These are security cameras focused on the entryways and designed to maintain privacy and security while you enjoy our home.
GUESTS:
Only the guests on the confirmed reservation are allowed on the property / in the chalet. Extra guests must be approved by owners in advance of the reservation and are subject to additional fees.

We have a strict no pet policy.
