Summary: It's about a 20-minute drive from the airport, and there is a minimart right next door. I think it's a reasonable space for a layover in Portugal; maybe even for a couple of days, but I cannot speak to anything beyond the layover. It fit my budget, check-in was seamless and easy (just what I needed for a layover), and the owners were very responsive.
