Once through the gate, the next decorative touch involves oversized concrete steppingstones and professionally designed mini tropical gardens. To the left is private off-street parking for your vehicle, and to the right is an area perfect for bicycles, scooters, or beach paraphernalia. The front door opens onto a view of the spacious living room. The area is perfect from any angle, but your eye can’t help but be drawn through the glass wall at one end to the mesmerizing pool area beyond. So even when you’re inside, there’s an island “outside” ambiance.The living area is inviting, spacious, and purposeful. It is nicely appointed with ample seating on a long stretch of couch embellished with accent pillows. Next to it are two armchairs and two round catch-all mini tables. All are orientated for easy viewing of a movie or sporting event on the large screen TV on the opposite wall. Underneath is a sleek, black media chest of drawers with oodles of storage space for incidentals. Of course, there’s AC, wireless high-speed internet, full cable, and Sonos sound. The flooring throughout much of the house is gorgeous wood with area rug accents. The living, kitchen, and dining areas comprise an open floor plan, creating an easy flow for relaxed vacation living and entertaining. Recessed spotlights gleam above here and throughout the residence, adding light and a contemporary flair.Straight ahead from the front door is the kitchen, which has two large windows that flood the area with more lovely ambient light. To the left is a walk-in pantry that is enviable by anyone’s standards. The main kitchen features a generous countertop of elegant Italian granite. The kitchen island functions as a seating and food prep area, beginning with a gleaming glass stovetop on one side and four upholstered counter stools on the other, which means cooking can easily be a communal affair. Tucked underneath the island top are the oven on one side and the microwave on the other. Above are five wood and metal hanging lights in unique spiral cages that dazzle the whole area with reflection and refraction. The main counter on the opposite side of the kitchen offers plenty of space for often-used appliances like a coffee maker while still leaving plenty of space for food preparation. Whatever you could imagine needing has been anticipated and supplied to make this kitchen worthy of the descriptor “well-orchestrated.”Off the kitchen is also the first of four full bathrooms. This bathroom is excellent for use after a dip in the pool. Appropriately tangent to the kitchen is the dining area and second full bathroom. The dining table is crafted from a premium piece of satin hardwood with six complementary chairs and an unanticipated white upholstered armchair as an accent at each end. As in the living area, a single black cabinet stands across from the table with an abstract painting of the ocean in deep blues and silvers above.A few steps back by the front door is the entrance to the first of the four bedrooms. While the other three bedrooms are traditional, this one features the ultimate of almost unlimited sleeping capacity with four comfy full-sized bunk beds. No matter who might invite themself to visit you in Key West, this room can handle it. There’s a spacious walk-in closet for hanging items, suitcases, that sort of thing. On another wall is a five-drawer chest with plenty of space for folded items. Continuing a design feature of the home, large windows spread across one wall. The bathroom for this bedroom is the one off the Kitchen (pool bath.)Past the dining room is the second bedroom on the first floor. It’s the first of two master bedrooms with a king bed, walk-in closet, dresser holding a large screen TV, and sliding glass doors to a private deck. The bathroom for this bedroom is the (second full) bathroom across the entry off the dining room.Up a spiral staircase are two more bedrooms with full ensuite baths. The first could also be considered the second-floor master with an ensuite and private balcony. The hallway to the final bedroom holds a linen closet stuffed with towels, sheets, etc. Next to the linen closet is the laundry closet with a stacked washer/dryer. Then the fourth bedroom and ensuite full bath. This room is nicely appointed with familiar accouterments: a comfy queen bed, dresser, chair, lamp, TV, and closet. In island lingo, the “grand finale” of Sea Stone is the outside oasis. Through the wall of glass at one end of the living space is the outside patio, protected from the elements by a roof overhang and delineated by an area rug over the hardwood flooring. A couch, chairs, coffee table, and end table make a perfect retreat for relaxing out of the sun with a good book or magazine.Adjacent is a pool whose elegance and sparkle shape your whole vacation experience and create the perfect opportunity for alfresco activities. One end of the pool shows off a delightful three-spout waterfall, and the other end features a recessed ledge for sitting in shallow water. Swim for exercise or float looking up into Key West’s unique puffy white clouds. When you are ready to be out of the water but not out of the sun, pull up one of the chaise lounge chairs and stretch out on the pool deck. Not only does this home make the perfect vacation spot, but its neighborhood is quiet and residential, yet close to Atlantic Boulevard. Turn left at Atlantic to find Smathers Beach. It is the largest public beach in Key West and offers activities like jet skis and paddleboard rentals. Turn right at Atlantic to find the White Street/Knight Pier jutting out a quarter of a mile into the Atlantic.Next to that is Higgs Beach, a public beach with seventeen acres of beachfront and white sand imported from the Caribbean. A famous restaurant, Salute! On The Beach, is here. Nearby and still overlooking the Atlantic is Louie’s Back Yard, a Caribbean-American restaurant known for fine dining. By now, you are only a few blocks from world-famous Duval Street, where there are hundreds of restaurants and bars, shopping, ticket booths offering any kind of water sport or adventure you could imagine, theaters, music venues, etc. And wait till you see the other side of the island, which borders the Gulf of Mexico. More of the same and just as delightful. At Mallory Square is the famous nightly sunset celebration featuring food, drink, music, vendors, shows of all sorts, and the most spectacular sunset you’ll ever see. Visitors and locals alike applaud as the sun slips behind the horizon.
